Sowing Season (Yeah) Lyrics - Brand New

Review The Song (23)

Was losing all my friends
Was losing them to drinking and to driving
Was losing all my friends but I got them back

I am on the mend
At least now I can say that I am trying
And I hope you will forget things I still lack

Yeah
Yeah

Is it in you now?
To bear to hear the truth that you have spoken
Twisted up by knaves
to make a trap for fools

Is it in you now?
To watch the things you gave your life to broken
And stoop and build them up with worn out tools

Yeah *Chorus*

Nothing gets so bad
A whisper from your father couldn't fix it
Your whispers like a bridge, he's a river span

Take all that you have
and turn it into something you would miss if
Somebody threw that brick
And shattered all your plans

Yeah *Chorus*

Time to get the seeds into the cold ground
It takes a while to grow anything
Before its coming to an end yeah

Before you put my body in the cold ground, take some time to warm it with your hands
Before it's coming to an end, yeah

It's coming to an end

Do you miss the blend
Of colours she left in your black and white field
Do you feel condemned just being there?

I am not your friend
I am just a man who knows how to feel

I'm not your friend
I'm not your lover,
I'm not your family.

Yeah *Chorus*

Time to get the seeds into the cold ground
It takes a while to grow anything
Before it's coming to an end yeah

I wish Brand New were on the radio/tv | Reviewer: Mark | 6/18/11

These guys deserve to be on tv and the radio. They would make a heap more money and they are artists who deserve to. Its the labels who ruin bands. I couldnt care less if they became mainstream, i still listen and id still love them. They arent a real popular band in Australia but there are alot of us who do love them. I hope they continue writing and producing little gems like this for many more years.... PLAY CRACK THE SKY

I seen Brand New @ the tabernacle in ATL right after they released this album, and let me just say these guys can put on a show. I had chills the entire show. Your Favorite Weapon, Deja Entendu, & The Devil & God are there best albums, but yeah i'm just saying if you really love and enjoy their music you should see them live. You won't be disappointed.

Nate, you're right. They've been on MTV and all when they were younger, and wanted to be famous, like "'cuz you've gotta know, who's been singing that song on the radio". Brand New are what you're looking for, but they find you before you find them.

sorry nate | Reviewer: bob | 4/23/10

i don't know what that nate kid is talkin about, but these guys have been on MTV/other music channels before, and they aren't "unknown", because they actually have a lot of fans that love this music as much as us.

anyway this is a great song and should be loved and appriciated by all. the entire album is great.

Words cannot describe | Reviewer: Sarah | 1/29/10

This is one of those songs you have to buy. The pure musicality, the lyrics, the melody, the dynamics - everything. It's the kind of song that haunts you for a very long time, whether or not you notice. There aren't many bands that are quite this talented anymore.

This song is too good for words. I've been a fan of Brand New for a long time and have to say that their progression is amazing - they always bring out a different sound, something unexpected and they really push their limits - unlike a lot of bands out there who just give the fans what they want and live up the 'celebrity' lifestyle. I can listen to this song over and over again and always take meaning from it.

idk if any of you have ever seen brand new in concert or not but the room contained the most energy and emotion i've ever been around in my life. so much feeling. was truely amazing. and nate, brand new has already been on mtv before, sorry kid.

okk | Reviewer: Caleb | 11/3/09

television doesnt ruin music. it just makes them more noticed and more people start liking them. and as soon as that happens, the orignal "fans" stop liking them because they think theyre sellouts. or they bitch about "oh well i knew about them before everyone" well someone new about them before you, and they look at you the same way you look at the people that just found out about them. anyone can like any music, no matter when they find about them. some bands are mainstream for a reason, and its because theyre fucking awesome. brand new may not quite be mainstream, but they are well known.

Nate hater your dumb. he is right television does ruin music and im sure jesse knows this. Brand New knows what to do though nate they've come this far haha and yes nate they do hate major labels :p but brand new is amazing

Great Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/25/09

Brand New was on Z100 and K-Rock back in the day with "the quiet things that no one ever knows." They are very much NOT UNDERGROUND. This is quite possibly one of the best songs I've heard, very powerful meaning to this song.

props to them for creating it, they totally make TBS look like a joke.
