Smile Lyrics - 2Pac

Review The Song (20)

Smile Lyrics

Intro:

2Pac

There's gon' be some stuff you gon' see that's gon' make it
hard to smile in the future.

But through whatever you see, through all the rain and the pain,
you gotta keep your sense of humor.
You gotta be able to smile through all this bullshit.

Remember that.

Verse One: 2Pac

Our lifestyles be close captioned
addicted to fatal attractions
Pictures of actions be played back
in the midst of mashin'
No fairy tales for this young black male
sponsored links
Some see me stranded in this land of hell, jail, and crack sales
Hustlin' at heart be a nigga's culture
or the repercutions while bustin' on backstabbin' vultures
Sellin' my soul for material wishes, fast cars and bitches
Wishin' I live my life a legend, immortalized in pictures
Why shed tears? Save your sympathy
My childhood years were spent buryin' my peers in the cemetary
Here's a message to the newborns, waitin' to breathe
If you believe then you can achieve
Just look at me
Against all odds, though life is hard we carry on
Livin' in the projects, broke with no lights on
To all the seeds that follow me
protect your essence
Born with less, but you still precious
Just smile for me now

Chours: Johnny P, 2Pac

Smiiiiiile for me , won't you smile (smile for me now)
Just smiiiile (smile), smile for me
(What cha lookin' all sad for, nigga you black, smile for me now)
Smiiiiiile for me (nigga you ain't got nothin' to be worried about)
Won't you smile (no doubt, smile for me now) just smiiiiile
(And the next generation)

Verse Two: Scarface

Now as I open up my story
with the blaze of your blunts
And you can picture thoughts slowly
up on phrases I wrote
And I can walk you through the days that I done
I often wish that I could save everyone
but I'm a dreama
Have you ever seen a nigga who was strong in the game
overlookin' his tomorrows and they finally came?
Look back on childhood memories and I'm still feelin' the pain
Turnin' circles in my 9 grade dealin' cocaine
To many hassles in my local life, survivin' the strain
And a man without a focus, life could drive him insane
Stuck inside a ghetto fantasy hopin' it'd change
But when I focus on reality we broke and in chains
Had a dream of livin' wealthy and makin' it big
Over foot broad chose to cook raw, wouldnt take it, it did
And after all my momma's thankin' God for blessin' the child
All my momma gots to do now is collect it and smile
Smile

Chorus (without 2pac)

Verse Three: 2Pac

Fuck the world as we elope and witness furious speeds,
Unanswered questions keep us all stressin', curious G's
Backstabbed and bleedin', crooked thoughts laced with weed
Learnin', duckin' stray shots, bullets be hot, they burnin'
Inhalin' sherm smoke, visualized the flames
Will I be smothered by my own pain?
Strange whispers, cowards conversate, so quick to dis us
Takin' pictures for the feds, and desperate hopes they'd get us
Hit us off, give us plenty centuries, forgive my sins
Since I ain't in many penitentaries the best revenge is fuck friends
We military minded soldiers, bustin' shots blindly
Tryin' to find Jehovah to help me
Somebody save me
Lost and crazy, scared to drop a seed hopin' I ain't cursed my babies
Maybe now niggas feel me now, picture my pain
embrace my words make the world change
And still I smile nigga

(Scarface talking)

And now a moment of silence, let us pray
And as you journey into outerspace
may the angels help to lead the way
may the prayers that our families make
shine up on your soul and keep you safe
And all the homies that have passed away
Be there to greet you as you pass the gates
And as you headed to the tunnel's light
I hope it leads to eternal life
We say the prayers for our homie 'Pac
Smile

(Smile for me)
(All ya need to do is smile)
(Woooo smile for me)
(Come on smile for me)

Messege to the World | Reviewer: Free Man in Mystical World | 6/28/11

I come here by to admit 2 pac was not just a rapper he was more than that he had a mission either him knowing or not words from him are pure incentive for the Black cummunity to closely watch and be on the look-out for phylosophy world adopted to get "Niggas " stranded live with no hope! until this is over!
don't ever thing that any thing world has announced is casual...has meaning to every piece of letter and syllable spoken!!!!!!!

The meaning of his most powerful lyrical message. | Reviewer: Joey | 1/10/11

Nobody ever talks about the significance of this song, and that bothers me.
This is 2Pac's greatest song, with the deepest message.
It's a warning message to the future generation about the NWO, and eugenics population control targetting the black community, and the lower class.
(Written in Present and Future Tense)
I'm not black, but I'm just as concerned as 2Pac, when it comes to eugenics.
In the video he depicted himself as Jesus on a cross because he knew if he made the video it was the ultimate sacrifice, and that he would die for exposing a warning message (The Elite Class who controls The Fed would assassinate him, the same way MLK, Malcom X, Ghandi, and JFK were assassinated)

"There's gon' be some stuff you gon' see
that's gon' make it hard to smile in the future.
But through whatever you see,
through all the rain and the pain,
you gotta keep your sense of humor.
You gotta be able to smile through all this bullshit.
Remember that.
Mmm, yeah.
Keep ya head up.Yeah."
-
This is a clear warning message, also he is sending a message that no matter how bad things get, to keep peace on your hearts and minds.
The NWO is planning to make the black community self destruct.
-

Verse One: 2Pac

Our lifestyles be close captioned
addicted to fatal attractions
Pictures of actions be played back

-
He is saying that the lifestyles of the black community were pre-written so it is difficult to be different than the stereo-typical image.
He believed that the current lifestyle is a self-destructive one.
-

No fairy tales for this young black male
Some see me stranded in this land of hell, jail, and crack sales
Hustlin' at heart be a nigga's culture
or the repercutions while bustin' on backstabbin' vultures
Sellin' my soul for material wishes, fast cars and bitches
Wishin' I live my life a legend, immortalized in pictures
Why shed tears? Save your sympathy
My childhood years were spent buryin' my peers in the cemetary

-
He didn't like the lifestyle he grew up in, he wished he didn't have to be a Thug.
-

Here's a message to the newborns, waitin' to breathe
If you believe then you can achieve
Just look at me
Against all odds, though life is hard we carry on

-
Just saying, keep ya' head up.
-

Livin' in the projects, broke with no lights on
To all the seeds that follow me
protect your essence
Born with less, but you still precious
Just smile for me now

-
Just saying that you aren't any better or worse than everyone else because of you culture.
Once again refering to seeds as the youth. (the next generation)
-
Chours: Johnny P, 2Pac

Smiiiiiile for me , won't you smile (smile for me now)
Just smiiiile (smile), smile for me
(What cha lookin' all sad for, nigga you black, smile for me now)
Smiiiiiile for me (nigga you ain't got nothin' to be worried about)
Won't you smile (no doubt, smile for me now) just smiiiiile

Smile

-
This once again warns that eugenics is coming/is here.
The American dream is nearly impossible in the 'ghetto' community.
I'm not sure about the raw cooking line. But I believe that the junk food / pesticides in the food we eat, are killing us slowly, (and our unborn children)
-

Chorus (without 2pac)

Verse Three: 2Pac

Unanswered questions keep us all stressin', curious G's
Backstabbed and bleedin', crooked thoughts laced with weed
Learnin', duckin' stray shots, bullets be hot, they burnin'
Inhalin' sherm smoke, visualized the flames
Will I be smothered by my own pain?
Strange whispers, cowards conversate, so quick to dis us

-
He is upset by the media cover-ups, and extreme growth of capitalism causing problems, which is ran by the Elite.
-

Takin' pictures for the feds, and desperate hopes they'd get us
Hit us off, give us plenty centuries, forgive my sins
Since I ain't in many penitentaries the best revenge is fuck friends
We military minded soldiers, bustin' shots blindly
Tryin' to find Jehovah to help me
Somebody save me

-
He is worried that the Feds are after him, and that his sins are going to curse him
-

Lost and crazy, scared to drop a seed hopin' I ain't cursed my babies

-
He may have had knowledge of harmful chemicals in food, cologne, (almost everything) that causes birth defects. I doubt this had to do with religious sins.
-

Maybe now niggas feel me now, picture my pain
embrace my words make the world change
And still I smile nigga

-
He wants the black community to change before it is too late.
-
(Scarface talking)

Tupac rest and look forward to seeing you again when ther will be no more pain!!!!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/15/10

Tupac, I know you are asleep right now. I just want to say that I know you will awaken soon. And all your days will be filled with smiles!!! You are a special person and unforunatly your enemies knew that. You have been a target your whole life. But now you are safe in his memory and no thug, gangsta, childhood, devil aka satan can take that away from you. I met you once and we talked and I told you I needed to get myself right and not too long after that I did. I hope to see you soon. Love you brother.

Peace | Reviewer: Chris | 9/1/10

It's been years without you brother and yet your music still sounds like miracles to our ears. And I believe when u say "Here's a message to the newborns, waitin' to breathe
If you believe then you can achieve
Just look at me
Against all odds, though life is hard we carry on
Livin' in the projects, broke with no lights on".

love it | Reviewer: Tyler | 9/2/09

Jacqueline, maybe it was just a typo, or because English isn't your first language, either way I'm not trying to make fun of you but I find it pretty funny that you wrote RAPER as in one who commits the act of rape, since 2pac was charged with rape once. :)

Anyway, I love this song.
