The music has the furious beat and driving buzz saw guitars
of classic punk rock, but when a vocal chorus cuts in, it
is surprisingly harmonious and emotionally evocative,
reminiscent of The Beatles or The Everly Brothers.
This is a sonic contradiction that works to stunning
effect. It is also a sound that has come to define one of
the world’s most original rock bands, BAD RELIGION. To call
BAD RELIGION simply a punk band is akin to labeling the
Who, a mod band, or Pet Sounds era Beach Boys, surf music.
True, these bands were each defined by a time and a place –
and you can definitely hear echoes of the Los Angeles punk

i'm not too big a fan of guitar hero. in fact, i think it represents the degredation of our society. however, if i hadn't heard this song on it, i never would have found out about bad religion, which is now one of my favorite bands.

People who claim that musicians have no need to get involved with politics are terribly mistaken. In my opinion Graffin is more educated and informed than half the suits in Washington "representing" us. I couldn't think of a more qualified role model.

------ About the song Infected performed by Bad Religion
Wow, why don't you take the time to actually learn the instrument, instead of pressing 5 buttons on a mini, plastic guitar. Then you can boast about being able to play it. Anyway, great song, first I heard of Bad Religion, and I still love it :D
Once again, the boys have proven that they have not lost anything when it comes to composing lyrics that not only make us think, but they also make us go to dictionary.com, cuz we have NO idea what the words mean!!! - lol - This song goes down the same path as "ANASTHESIA", and "I WANT TO CONQUER THE WORLD" - read the lyrics while listening to the song, then read the lyrics, then listen to the song.....THEN TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL HE IS SINGING ABOUT!!!!
This band may just be a loud 80's punk band to some, but to me, they are my sanity.

Its amazing how different the song is when you actually have the correct lyrics. I have heard this song a million times and sang it a million times and now that i see this it just makes it that much better. Bad Religion is the best.

------ About the song Beyond Electric Dreams performed by Bad Religion
I think the real meaning of the song is contained in this stanza:
"I'm only a visitor,
And atom of atoms on a jutting red splattered synagogue of granite
As it crouches literally in space,
A frozen amoral giant gazing heavenward forever"
If this isn't obvious, the "frozen, amoral giant" is the Earth itself. "Atom of atoms" means we're tiny - atom-like - in comparison with the Earth and the universe, though also composed "of atoms". The Earth does, in fact, "crouch, literally in space". "Red-spattered" is a reference to the blood that we've spilled in war and conflict.
This song is about our existence being split from the nature that spawned us after so many "electric dreams". "Let's scan the horizon clean of any trace of human schemes" is a call for us to return from whence we came - to the nature that spawned us. But we can't return to the superstitions of our species' youth. We have to return to nature with no pretense of gods or illusions of the supernatural, our probity guided and defined only by our own ratiocination.
simply one of the best BR somngs to come out in a while. I do not know when this was originally recorded, but it harkens back to the BR of a decade ago or so. (i.e. Generatoresque)
Great song!
I only hope its actually a new song and portends what is to come on their new album that NEEDS to come out soon... I am having BR withdrawl.
Seriously, I have been an avid fan since 1990 and could not disagree with Greg's positions more, but I respect his intelligence and candor. I would LOVE to debate Greg one day... THAT would be intense... believe me!

It's really to bad someone put out the fires... Los Angeles is one of those many places on earth that should be on fire, that should rot in all its plasticity.
Indeed, the whole world is going insane.

lyrics sound correct. As far as interpretation-
previous review half interesting, when caps come on stop reading. My take is a Zarathustrian enlightenment. As a rock climber I am attracted to the mountains, as are the raptors, or, giant birds as they are ever present around the mounts, even Everest. The purity and sterility from humanity found in these high places is awesome. If a person could keep that enthusiasm with them forever, this would be heaven. Reality gives us a finite period, thats fine with me.

what this means | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Beyond Electric Dreams performed by Bad Religion
what this means is that the masses believe in a heaven that they can not define... yet they can point to the ideology or path that will take you there. being of the human condition we can not accept that we are not meant for something greater in the end... pure madness. what comes next shows our impending doom. that of which seems to be our terrestrial nature to rise to existence and eventually fall out of existence. which is just the natural cycle perhaps? it has been happening since the day of the raptor or dinosaur and who knows beyond that... the path to extinction for us has been the focus of our daily lives (for a majority at least), RELIGION. lets break it down. at the end of the EON or AGE of PICESES or CHRISTIANITY a man (who will most likely be holding a jug of water... see AQUARIUS) will be coming down from on a mountain or steppes and will command the slaughter or cleansing of all those born or worshiping of the CHRISTIAN - AGE. Exactly like the biblical Moses commanded that all those born and worshiping of the GOLDEN IDOL (which was a BULL, duh) or TAURUS / PAGAN - EON or AGE that they kill their family, friends, peers, and all in the name of the GOD of the NEW AGE of PICESES (ya, the FISH). come on... don't you realize NOW why the FISH is such a prominent ICON of JESUS and why they are on so many bumbers of the faithful? I guess that leaves the question WHEN? Since an eon is immeasurable, there is no telling... but keep a watchful eye for a distant growing scheme among the faithful of any GNOSTIC belief.
eon
noun
1. the longest division of geological time
2. an immeasurably long period of time; "oh, that happened eons ago"
3. (Gnosticism) a divine power or nature emanating from the Supreme Being and playing various roles in the operation of the universe
