------ About artist/band Collective Soul
i actually went out with ed, ross and the guys one night in hollywood to a restaurant on melrose.....they were extremely nice and home grown georgia boys...i met them and knew them from their agent that i worked with (jay floyd..a georgia boy) at the time...when "shine" came out. i am a southerner, too...and i stayed at the hotel with him for one night at the mondrian hotel on sunset,,,he actually wanted me to cut his long brunette hair, but i refused because he had the most beautiful hair i'd ever seen on a man... i then followed him to the next venue in san juan capistrano, a little dive bar the next day...where there were a lot of girls in the "waiting" area....nothing ever happened with us...but i lost a brand new black bra in the process (at the mondrian) where i say again, nothing happened except a little playing around (obviously, because i lost my bra)....then at least 10 years later..out of the blue, i see ed at my regular hangout, the "venice whaler" in my hood, venice beach, having lunch on the patio, ....he had shorter, blonde hair and looked older..don't know if he recognized me or not....but we did match eyes for a split second...i think he knew that he knew me....a very nice southern girl who knew his agent and was a little bit smitten at the time.....
A song of deep personal meaning | Reviewer: Dabo
------ About the song Forgiveness performed by Collective Soul
Forgiveness is not for some one else but the you of the past self.
What one hearts creates the soul doesn't owe. The heart used to be consider the seat of ones consciousness. So what my unconscious mind has created my soul or my conscious mind does not owe.
To forgive that person that you is to be able to move on into the present and say goodbye to the past.

------ About the song Perfect Day performed by Collective Soul
I originally purchased this album thanks to an online friend. He was always playing the songs from this particular CD, and well, I fell hook line and sinker! "Perfect Day" speaks volumes to me, and I love the fact Sir Elton teamed up for this one. Top album, top band, top music!

------ About the song Forgiveness performed by Collective Soul
Have you heard that old song of his the HEART OF THE MATTER? When I divorced her, she had humiliated me. What was left but foregiveness? I'm learning to live without you now... the more I know, the less I understand... I've been trying to get down to heart of the matter, but I think its about foregiveness... even if you don't love me anymore.
Terrific collective Soul--these guys have it all--great lyrics, great vocals, great guitar effects, great riffs, great production. And I'm not even a hardcore CS fan!
Inspired by God | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Shine performed by Collective Soul
It seems to me this is a song about asking the Lord our God to guide you through your life. Asking to be taught how to speak, share, and where to go in life by Jesus will always make Heaven's light shine on you.
Mom Loves This | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Where the River Flows performed by Collective Soul
I am a 43 year old mother of 3 teenage boys. When I heard this song for the first time blaring from one of their bedrooms, for once I was not offended by the music. I had them download it to a CD for me to listen to in my car. I love this... it's great.

All is not After All | Reviewer: Paul Woods
------ About the song After All performed by Collective Soul
The words for the song All showed up for the song All, they are not even remotely accurate. the chorus starts "if all is all i can give you" in the song but is nowhere to be seen in your lyrics.

Yes and..... | Reviewer: Sharon
------ About the song Forgiveness performed by Collective Soul
Forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean acceptance. I forgive him for the betrayal however I can never take him back. Paralyzing pain. He is married to her now and I wish them happiness.

------ About the song Shine performed by Collective Soul
I like the song. It reminds me of a very beautiful girl from Alaska that spent time w/ me on the Maine coast in the summer of 1997. She introduced me to the song. Great memories!!!
Powerful song | Reviewer: Joyce
------ About the song Crown performed by Collective Soul
This song not only has beautiful lyrics but can be seen in a very powerful performance on the "Home" DVD. I think he says "I think that hope is now dashed at sea" not "distancing" as in your lyrics. Like all Collective Soul songs, very deep and beautiful.

So sweet | Reviewer: Adrian
------ About the song Forgiveness performed by Collective Soul
They really did a fantastic job with this song. The message here is that forgiveness is so difficult, but worth learning. Every time I hear this song, I think of how badly I want to learn how to forgive. We are all so flawed.
Lullaby? | Reviewer: Seykick
------ About the song Satellite performed by Collective Soul
I'm wanting to learn this on acoustic (the From the Ground Up version by Collective Soul is amazing) to play as a lullaby for (one day) my children. Imparts so much meaning that way, I think.
