We just returned from Branson, and the Andy Williams show was our ultimate favorite show. It even started from the time you entered the parking lot with the beautiful Christmas lights draped on the trees making it a fairy land effect. The theater was beautiful. But the best part was the professional performance of the entire show. We loved seeing Mr. Williams and hearing his incredible voice. LOVED THE SHOW!!!!!!

------ About artist/band Andy Williams
I recently returned from Branson and was so looking forward to the Andy Williams show. It was beautifully staged, interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was, however, disappointed that such a lovely program felt it necessary to include derogatory comments about President Obama and found this to be in poor taste.

I grew up in the small village of southeastern nigeria.
at age of about 12 i started fascinated sentimental music,
i found andy williams and don williams became my all time
favourite. i mean all the tunes of these two born singers
are indispensable to my heart and soul.
I have been to Branson several times and each time I have seen The Andy Williams Show, and it gets better each time. I have recently ordered his book "Moon River and Me" and had it autographed. Hope to see him again soon.

Well, where do I start? I have loved Andy Williams for as long as I can remember. My story of how much I love Andy and his music is too complex to write here--maybe I'll write about it my blog!!:) I watched his Christmas programs and was hooked. I also watched his Saturday night program. When I met my ex-husband, he had no idea of my love for Andy's music. While staying at my ex's parents home as the guest of his sister, we were helping do some chores for their Mom. He came around the corner, bound up the steps, singing "Moon River". I knew that he was going to be my husband at that moment. After we married, we were able to attend one of Andy's Christmas concerts in Greenville,SC. And the second one we attended in Niagara Falls at the Convention Center in 1991. Our daughter got to go on the stage both times. I have pictures of both concerts. "Moon River" was our song through out our marriage and it continues to be so very special to me and to prove it, I have it as my ringtone on my cell phone. I LOVE Andy Williams!!!

Andy is the greatest singer of all time! His show in Branson is a must-see. He is the ultimate in professionalism. We try to see his show every year, and we are always thrilled. The long trip to Branson just wouldn't be worthwhile without Andy's show. His restaurant is a must too. The food was great.
I am now 59 and I have been a fan since I was 19. I remember being home on a Sat. night and I wanted to watch the Dating Game but my mother wanted to look at the Andy Williams show. I fell in love with his music that night and he has been my favorite ever since. I have always said "that when Andy Williams sings, all is right with the world". Love him to pieces.
i first heard this song in The Exodus movie and i had no idea Andy Williams wrote it because i only heard Pat Boone sing it but i've always loved the "SMOOTH" touching sound of Andy William's voice....A TRUE MASTERPIECE.

We just saw Andy in Branson, MO. and I don't care what people say...he still has it! We met him at his Moon River Grill after the show. He is a class act all the way.
The people we were sitting next to at the show said that he has a singer backstage who is doing his voice now...
I find that hard to believe!!!
How could he lip sync someone else's voice...if he was lip syncing...
He sang well and that is what I want to believe!!!
I just saw Andy in November 2008 and was blown away by how good he still is. I remember watching him on t.v. in the 60's and have always been a fan. I couldn't believe how much "he" was on stage and how incredible his voice is after all these years! I loved him and his show.

I could listen to my Mother's Andy Williams records all day long. Especially, one that you don't hear of too much named, "Holly", I love it because that is my name. I would love to go to Branson and see him. I tbink I will do some research to find out where and when he will be there.
Thanks, Holly
There are some songs that reverberate in the mind so that they are never forgotten. The lyric is only average except for a well-written chorus; in that chorus the only word that is like sand in the bathing suit is the word "Catch." The lyricist could have done better. But the music to the chorus is simple and unforgetable; it soars. Every time I hear it, it stops me in my tracks and I have to pause to listen. Beautiful! And Andy Williams's version is very well done.

------ About the song Can't Take My Eyes Off You performed by Andy Williams

I remember my family sitting close to the TV in our Littleton, Colorado home to watch Andy when he performed on a naval ship. He was accompanied by Don Grusin, who was a few years older than I. But my mom and dad were friends of Henry Grusin and his wife. Dave, the second son, was only a couple of years ahead of me in high school, and their sister, Deanna, was in my brother's class at Littleton High School. Henry owned Henri's Jewelry Store in downtown Littleton, and most Littleton High Students got their class rings from him, including me.
When Don joined the Navy and was subsequently asked to accompany Andy for a performance on-ship, Don became a regular with Andy. My mother, Grace Bailey, followed Don's career with Andy closely, and when Don began writing the musical scores for some well-known films, mom was thrilled and purchased the albums. At the time of her death, I believe she owned every album Don had put out. And Andy, too, of course.
A side note: I worked for Community Hospice when the Lennon Sisters' mother was on service. Andy was reported to have been at the Lennon home on many occasions, spending time with, and comforting the family.
My husband and I plan to see one of the Christmas performances (as I've wanted to do for years!), and would condsider it an honor if we were able to meet him. I don't know if that's possible, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to ask.
We have just returned from another trip to Branson, Mo. and yes, another night( 11/5/07) at the " Moon River Theatre". Andy's Christmas Show this year was exceptional and the added acts he put in were excellent, as usual. The follwing day we visited Andy's Moon River Grille ( across the street from the theatre ) for an excellent lunch. We have great wait help, excellent accomidations and an exceptional meal. I cannot give Andy's Show enough recommendation, always Ist Class. In conclusion, we shall return !!!!!!
Our group from Washington saw Andy's Christmas show on November 4, 2007 in Branson. He was fabulous - no other like him. We all enjoyed it to the hilt! The "Moon River Grill" is also to be praised - good food. Keep it up Andy!

We saw his show on 11-1-07, opening night of his Christmas show. It was fantastic. He is always a 1st class performer. No one matches his tallent or professionalism. We met him after the show & he is is gracious & friendly. We've seen his show for years & will continue to as long as he's in Branson. He is 1 show we never miss when in Branson.
We saw Andy last night on the opening night of his Christmas Show and were pleasantly entertained. His appreciation for younger, up and coming musicians and artists tell the true story of Andy Williams, the legend. He is gracious and still has a commanding voice and I love his restaurant across from his theatre. There is only one Andy Williams and he makes sure that you leave his establishment with a smile and a lovely memory or two.

------ About the song Stranger On The Shore performed by Andy Williams
This song originally the theme tune for a U.K. Children's Hour serialized TV drama titled, "Stranger On The Shore". The tale of a young French girl come to England and and live with a host British family.
Slim Whitman also recorded a vocal version. Slim's rendition and unique voice captures the homesickness sentimentality portrayed by the young French girl. Each time I listen to Slim's lyrical version, my memory is refreshed. Recalling that when I was a child I watched every weekly episode of "Stranger On The Shore".
