Indigo Girls
After over two decades and eight studio albums together,
Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, known to their legion of fans as
Indigo Girls, have played thousands of shows. They've
operated within the music industry, without ever being a
product of that industry, gaining the respect of their
peers, not to mention an extremely loyal fanbase. It's an
audience that most artists would envy: one that eagerly
awaits new music from the duo, and greets older songs like
old friends. Fans often go to multiple shows per tour, and
never leave the gig until the final note rings out, and the
house lights go on. Regardless of which way the pop culture
breezes are blowing, who is topping the pop charts, who is
dominating fashion magazine covers, or who is getting
played on the radio, Indi More...
Review about Indigo Girls This song should be the World Anthem! | Reviewer: Jimmy Hollis i Dickson
------ About the song finlandia performed by Indigo Girls
This BEAUTIFUL song calls out to each of us to replace petty patriotism and self-interest with global understanding and acceptance. If we had all grown up singing this hymn instead of the (often bellicose and jingoistic) national anthems we DID grow up with, perhaps this World would be a more peaceful - and BETTER - home for ALL of us.

------ About the song house at pooh corner performed by Indigo Girls
When I was little, I remember my mother playing her guitar and singing this to me. It always put me to sleep. I recently sat down in hope to educate myself a little more on the show for my neice and I remembered how much I loved the story of Christopher Robin Wilne and his friends.
I love the story. I love the song. . .

------ About the song romeo and juliet performed by Indigo Girls
This version of the song does hold a tons more emotion than any other version I've heard.
This version actually made me cry!

------ About the song Let me Go Easy performed by Indigo Girls
Let Me Go Easy, performed by the best duo in the world, Indigo Girls, is simply beautiful. The harmonies are spot on, as usual, and the song has a significant message to anyone who has lost a loved one to any disease, especially cancer or AIDS. Love it! It has meaning. Love them! They believe in the meaning of meaning.

------ About the song Power of Two performed by Indigo Girls
Now the parking lot is empty
Everyone's gone someplace
I picked you up and in the trunk I've packed
A cooler and a two-day suitcase
Cause there's a place we like to drive
Way out in the country
Five miles out of the city limit we're singing
And your hand's upon my knee
So we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together and we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two
You know the things that I am afraid of
I'm not afraid to tell
And if we ever leave a legacy
It's that we loved each other well
I've seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But of all that's fancy and fast ends in a fatal crash
And I'm glad we got off to tell you the truth
so we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together and we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two
All the shiny little trinkets of temptation
Something new instead of something old
All you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface
And it's fool's gold
Fool's gold
Fool's gold
Now we're talking bout a difficult thing
And your eyes are getting wet
and It took us for better and It took us for worse
and don't you ever forget
the steel bars between me and a promise
Suddenly bends with ease
And the closer I'm bound in love to you
The closer I am to free
So we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than a monster beneath your bed
I'm smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the totals of a love that's true

------ About the song Let me Go Easy performed by Indigo Girls
The subject of the song fought the good fight...and she has the right to go into that final passage easily.
Great song about journey | Reviewer: megan o
------ About the song the wood song performed by Indigo Girls
This song is perfect to explain that sense of story and journey we are all traveling on and even though it may be hard at times, those times get you where you going.
Amy Ray and Emily Sailers do not cease to amaze me with their sweet voices, strong lyrics, and touching Musical talent. A folk, rock, and bluegrass mix on top of their own style, all together submit me to be one of the Indigo Girls' number 1 fans. Tons of songs have been created by my favorite duo and they are still keeping it real!
I started listening to the Indigo Girls in 1996 when I got a hold of an old tape recording a friend had in the car. Least Complicated (live) was playing and I was in Love with this group at first listen. I see me well through them. Then I bought some cds and played all songs over and over again. Their Music from the album "Swamp Ophelia" (released around 1994) spins me around, mesmerizes my mind, and embraces my soul. Their album
Retrospective (released around 2000) has the song "Kid Fears"
(powerful) and one of my favorites "Watershed." I return to the same verse (cited below) all the time, I get real, and say to myself this journey has been worth it: the pain, the pleasure
and this pure experience of feeling. I make a circle, and with this music, I remember to toast and say cheers to emotion and this soul...
"And there’s always retrospect
(when you're looking back)
to light a clearer path
every five years or so I look back on my life
and I have a good laugh
you start at the top
go full circle round
catch a breeze
take a spill
but ending up where I started again
makes me wanna stand still"
This poetry-song creates such atmosphere for me to laugh at and enJoy the circles of life!
In November 2003, a friend gifted me tickets for back to back
concert nights to see the Indigo Girls at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. They were releasing one of their newest albums "All That We Let In." I was thrilled, chilled, and I danced around watching, listening, singing with Amy and Emily playing guitars, banjos, maybe a mandolin...I met some wonderful people and found myself in love again.
Tonight I am going to see the Indigo Girls perform at the Portland Zoo. Their latest release, Rarities just came out and I'm buying a cd tonight at the show. Looking at their setlists (on their website: http://www.indigogirls.com/setlists.html) , I'm seeing that I'll get a suprise show tonight, and I will be dancing with other Indigo Girls' fans again to the earlier songs as well as brand new ones!
Check these girls out for some added soul-loving,
fine times...This site (sing365.com) has accurate lyrics to many if not all published songs written and performed by the Indigo Girls.

------ About the song faye tucker performed by Indigo Girls
Would be interested in knowing anything about Faye Tucker. Did she not do an album with Dolly Parton in the 60's?
This song has more emotion, more love, and more soul in it than any other song I have ever heard by the Indigo Girls. It proves that the whole "romeo and juliette" thing can be in any form or fashion. Like in this case, a woman loving a woman. I just love it.
Blue+my youth | Reviewer: AP
------ About the song tangled up in blue performed by Indigo Girls
I dunno - listening to this on 1200 Curfews really evokes my youth - in that "blue" was sexuality to me. Hearing the Igirls use Dylan's lyrics gave it a lesbian hard edge- people you meet on the road of life, and how they haunt you. Tangled up - caught in that kind of frame. Tracked through other relationships and times. Seeing someone again...
Brill track.
