Review about Tim Buckley Lyrics correction | Reviewer: Brian Phillips
------ About the song Buzzin' Fly performed by Tim Buckley
Correction to: How the sun "shown" down
Should be: How the sun "shone" down, the past tense of "shine". In my part of the world (Atlantic Canada), we pronounce the 'o' in "shone" short (as in 'shawn'), but many people pronounce it as a long 'o'. That makes it sound like your "shown", but "shone" makes more sense in the context of the other lyrics, which talk about the sun shining down. "Shown", the past tense of "show", makes no sense, since nothing is being shown. In the past, the sun was shining down and warming her prayin' smile.
