Killer Queen Lyrics

Performed by Queen
Review The Song (155)

She keeps Moet et Chandon
In a pretty cabinet
'Let them eat cake' she says
Just like Marie Antoinette
A built-in remedy
For Khrushchev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation
You can't decline

Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice

Chorus:
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, Gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime

Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?

To avoid complications
She never kept the same address
In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally
If you're that way inclined

Perfume came naturally from Paris
for cars she couldn't care less
Fastidious and precise

Chorus

Drop of a hat she's as willing as
Playful as a pussy cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild, wild
She's out to get you

Chorus

Recommended at the price
Insatiable in appetite
Wanna try?
You wanna try.

Geisha Minah / Asia Minor | Reviewer: Kevin | 3/3/12

Yes, that's what I mean to say. The man from China is the client and "Asia Minor" is a euphemism for his privates.

Now when I first posted this interpretation, this site was still listing the lyric as "Asia Minor", but now I see they've changed it to "Geisha Minah" to reflect the consensus of other web sites on this verse.

I don't really get the "Geisha" part. I think although he's pronouncing the second word "Minah" (to rhyme with China), I still think he might be meaning to say "minor". Some people say Geisha Minah/Minor is a synonym for Asia Minor. I've never heard that.

In any case, I'm standing by my interpretation that it's an oral sex reference. The true meaning of the verse is betrayed not by the phrase's subject, but by it's action ... "went down", and that, combined with the downward pointed index finger gesture that Freddie makes when he performs the verse makes it clear to me what he is talking about.

Re: Asia Minor | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/15/12

While yes, I agree those lyrics refer to oral sex, I think the client is not Asia Minor, but the man from China. In my opinion, Asia minor is a bit of a stereotypical pun of Asians having a small penis

Freddie Mercury lives on in us all! R.I.P Freddie!

To me this song seems to be talking about Cocaine rather than a particular woman. "To avoid complications, she never kept the same address." A dealer moving locations. The reference to Kennedy and his troubles with the drug. "Then momentarily out of action Temporarily out of gas To absolutely drive you wild, wild" The crash you get after the high. "Recommended at the price Insatiable in appetite Wanna try?" In general it seems the song is trying to get the listener to try cocaine.

Queen are British | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/6/12

In response to an earlier review, Queen probably said gelatine not gelatin because they are British, not just because it fitted the lyrics better. Gelatine is how they would say it. Ou Americans really are up yourselves.

Asia Minor | Reviewer: Kevin | 12/13/11

Met a man from China, went down to Asia Minor, then again, incidentally, if you're that way inclined ...

So I think what this means is that she performs oral sex on her client ("Asia Minor"), and then afterwards asks for it in return (the last part meaning, basically, would you mind returning the favor).

It's the ultimate manipulation, well in keeping with Freddie's explanation that classy people can be whores too. She is being paid to perform a service for the client, and is able to manipulate the situation to where she receives the very service that she was paid to perform.

Well, I could be a complete idiot, but that's how I interpret it.

the BEST song/lyrics to come out of the era of QUEEN | Reviewer: lee nager | 12/6/11

Killer Queen, to me is an anthem. An anthem of the 70's. Queen was probably the greatest group of musicians and the undying sound of Freddie Mercury was a blessing to our generation. I just recently learned all the lyrics to Killer Queen and it's amazing how much better I enjoy listening to the song along with the most ingenious lyrics. Long Live Queen!

In response to "That's Stupid"... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/29/11

I'm all for everyone deciding whatever song they love best, but please, get your facts straight:

John Deacon wrote "You're my Best Friend"

Brian May composed and sung "'39"

And overall, Freddie's greatest hit must go to "Bohemian Rhapsody", though Champions had the greatest western success, chart wise.

That's stupid | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/7/11

Queen, has written and performed far better songs than this one, and if you can say that this steals first place, than you certainly don't belong on a preference scale for Queen. Freddie Mercury's best hits are, Somebody to love, Year of '39 and Besfriend.

R.I.P Freddie, you were a good man who has soul.

This is such a stupid review, if people like this song best then let them be.

?????????????? | Reviewer: Skeezix6 | 6/24/11

The Referential treatment used here has a nice angular feel. If you were hearing it for the first time, the proceeding lyrics were unpredictable and could cover a lot of subject material. I now know that the KQ is a classy high-priced call ( like Holly Golightly, peut-etre? ) FM did a tantalizing job on the lyric writing.

Killer Queen Review | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/15/11

Now before I write this review, dynamite is nonfictional, and a laser beam is fictional. By how much damage laser beams can do, I judge that when mixed together, you have the equivalent of a nuclear bomb.

Now, let's get to my point. When they get to, ''Dynamite with a *laser beam,*'' ; The astericks mark the point where they make it sound like a laser beam. Now THAT'S pretty cool. Whoever says this song sucks, and they are severely allergic to citrus, go suck a lemon. Otherwise, STFU and kick your *** to hell, 'cause ain't no one gonna' do it for 'ya.

I Love Queen Too! | Reviewer: Bronwen Raza | 3/28/11

I am only a kid and I love Queen too! every and any song I espesically love Bohemian Rhapsody i like it because it changes half way through into a sort of jail scene with the eletric chair (send a bolt of lighting very frightning) and i love the harmonies at the begining it's kind of eeriy and spaceous like he's just killed him and is having second thoughts like is this really happening have i just done this. and his tinking what to say to his family. I love queen so much they are by far my favourtie rock band I only wish freddie was around to bless us with that golden voice.
Killer Queen is awesome to and i cant wait to get the greatest hits albums for my birthday (YAY!!!)

I LOVE Queen! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/4/11

I'm only a kid, but I absolutely adore Queen, and especially this song!!! (though I must say that The Prophet's Song is my favorite.) This song has a delightful melody and beautiful harmonies as can only be expected of Queen. If only Freddie were still around...

The Best Song Ever Written | Reviewer: Maria | 1/26/11

Before I write this review, can I just quote Freddie Mercury, when asked about this song:

"People are used to hard rock, energy music from Queen, yet with this single you almost expect Noel Coward to sing it. It's one of those bowler hat, black suspender belt numbers – not that Coward would wear that. (...) It's about a high class call girl. I'm trying to say that classy people can be whores as well. That's what the song is about, though I'd prefer people to put their interpretation upon it – to read into it what they like."

So it's about a prostitute, people.

In my opinion, this song is one of the best songs ever written. I love the vocals and the use of chorus to enhance and emphasise lines.

Besides that, it is great for singing along and the lyrics are terrific.

I LOVE QUEEN.

meaning | Reviewer: gary | 7/30/10

I always thought the song was written about a female spy (sort of a female James Bond)thus the references to champagne, cavier, french parfume. But in the meantime deadly accurate with a gun, explosives (gelatine), or laser weapons. Would also tie in with Kennedy and Kruschchev (possible double agent). or maybe thats just my interpretation
