I can't compare to the amazing stories of soldiers away from their families, and whatever it is between the 16 yr olds or people who knew someone for 2 weeks that's your thing. Aside from any of that my bf and I have been together on and off for 3 years. Every word in this song is how we are and when I moved to go back to school we broke up. Two weeks later he called me realizing I was the one. Its a hard road but it's doable and this song doesn't make my cry, it just reassures me that we aren't the only ones who have felt this way. Good luck to anyone who has to work through a relationship where this song has that much meaning, where it's reciprocated and maybe for the time being you can't be right next to the person you love and who loves you.

I love this song..every time I listen to it my mind travels great distances. I fell in love with this w girl in Brazil but I had to go back to America and every time I heard that song I thought of her. Long distance relationships suck!!! Earlier this year I started a relationship with an amazing girl...we had so many wonderful times. Secret kisses at work and walks in the park, we'd talk for hours everyday. We went to see Incubus sept. 7 and the whole night she was cuddling me. The problem is she already had a bf who she wanted to leave and one day she withdrew completey and we barely talk anymore. I fell for her and I can't imagine being with anyone else. Even though I think I lost her the day I saw Incubus was the happiest I have ever been. During the song drive she held me tight and I sang the line No matter what tomorrow brings ill be there with open arms and open eyes and she kissed me. Listening to these guys is bittersweet

I just felt in love with a girl 2 days before i had to leave new zealand. its hard to be back in europe and dont know if it would work with her or not.. every single word in the song reminds me of her.. i just wish i had a chance with her..... but i will see her again... Whether far or soon :-)

I love this song cuz it reminds me when my bf and I first started going out. He knew I would be at work so he would call to my phone and leave a voicemail singing this song to me. he still sings this song to me when he misses me too much. I love him. ^_^

My wife recently left me and my two year old daughter for a dead beat bartender almost twice her age. She gave up marriage, a home, and her child. Her entire family has disowned her. She has some trauma issues from her past and refuses to deal with them and she does EVERYTHING she can to hurt me. I've loved this song for many years but, in the last four months it's been stuck on "repeat" in my head. It takes on a new meaning and that is: unconditional love. No matter what she does or says, I'll always miss her.

I was really close friends with this guy when on a trip he kissed me and asked me to go out. We had been going out for 10 months when we both had to go to 2 different camps for a whole month. He said he never had felt anything like what he felt for me before and that he would keep me close during the holdays. A week after he came back he confessed that he had cheated on me various times during the camp and that he regretted and felt horrible about it so he had decided to tell me. We broke up after 11 months.I thought i was fine that i could move on and that i didnt miss him anymore. Its been a month since we broke up and i just noticed that i was lying to myself this whole time and that i miss him like crazy and i dont know what to do.

I'm 16 and fell in love with a boy who's been in and out of jail his whole life. Meant him 6 months ago, never looked back and he is all i needed to get threw the day. Now hes back in a program for 9 months and He can't even call me.I was suppose to go to his court date and be there for him but i never showed up.
