Disciple Lyrics - Slayer
Review The Song (9)
Drones since the dawn of time
Compelled to live your sheltered lives
Not once has anyone ever seen
Such a rise of pure hypocracy
I'll instigate I'll free your mind
I'll show you what I've known all this time
God Hates Us All, God Hates Us All
You know it's true God hates this place
You know it's true he hates this race
Hate heals, you should try it sometime
Strive for Peace with acts of war
The beauty of death we all adore
I have no faith distracting me
I know why your prayers will never be answered
God Hates Us All; God Hates Us All
sponsored linksHe Fuckin' hates me
Pessimist, Terrorist targeting the next mark
Global chaos feeding on hysteria
Cut throat, slit your wrist, shoot you in the back fair game
Drug abuse, self abuse searching for the next high
Sounds a lot like hell is spreading all the time
I'm waiting for the day the whole world fucking dies
I never said I wanted to be God's disciple
I'll never be the one to blindly follow
Man made virus infecting the world
Self-destruct human time bomb
What if there is no God would you think the fuckin' same
Wasting your life in a leap of blind faith
Wake the fuck up can't ignore what I say
I got my own philosophy
I hate everyone equally
You can't tear that out of me
No segregation -separation
Just me in my world of enemies
I never said I wanted to be God's disciple
I'll never be the one to blindly follow
I'll never be the one to bear the cross-disciple
I reject this fuckin' race
I despise this fuckin' place

The song might or is not a work to glorify Satan nor deny Christ. | Reviewer: Demopatria | 10/13/13
When I listen to this song alot of different things comes to mind. Many people beleive that this lyrics is created only to denounce Crhist but I don't think that just that is the reason for this songs lyrics. When Im listening to Disciple of course I will here the inevitable words of "God hates us all". Many would interpret this as a mark towards God and Christ but as I am listening to the song I think that what Tom Aryra is trying to tell us is how difficult it is to be a person of faith in todays society. For instance he sings "Drug abuse, self abuse searching for the next high. Sounds a lot like hell is spreading all the time". What he sings is about the difficulty in being a follower of Christ when there is happening alot of bad things in the world at the same time.
I see myself as a christian and I am a person who likes to interpret things espeically metal songs mainly because I listen to metal. I can't really say that the first time I heard this song that I was filled with understanding of the lyrics but as I started to read the lyrics I started to interpret it and I came to the conclusion the Aryra is singing or atleast describing an old theological question which was authored by Augastine. If God exists why does evil exist? This question would later be known as Theodicy.
I hope I'm not the only one interpet this song like this.

Please don't bring religion into music Brian. Just because something sounds non-friendly to Christ, that's not satanism. Honestly, I see that the lyrics state that we are going to screw ourselves and we are doing it each day. Apart from the guy yelling out god hates us all, there's no real evidence of the song being satanic. I'm not saying your in the wrong nor am I saying your in the right. You just got to learn to tolerate others. I don't really listen to much slayer. Hell, this is really the only song I listen to by them. You can link it to satanism, but it's not that way to me
Christians cut you up and print the bible on you | Reviewer: DarkVim | 8/9/12
Heya Brian ya little milk sucking faggot. You clowns are like the chicken shit side kick in every famous movie where the bad guy puts up with their stupidity until he tires of the stupid sidekicks antics then he just kills them or blows them up...Kinda like you and your radical muslim pals...when they tire of you, they will just begin blowing you up too...no matter how far you try to put your tumor shaped heads up thier political ass! If America is such an evil entity, then why is everyone still trying to get here? Freedom. That's why. Freedom to say stupid shit like "I hate America" and freedom to post it anonymously when you're too afraid to tell us who you are because you obviously have personal issues already. That's okay though, because many people are afraid to admit who and what they are and they love to hide behind anonymous places so they can state their cowardly points and run and hide under their mommy's dresses, kind of like the cowardly terrorists killing American soldiers defending that same FREEDOM you obviously HATE here but are too fucking chicken shit to stand up and be identified about.

Firstly, what makes metal a distinct genre is the music itself, not vocals. Screaming, singing, whispers - as long as it's accompanied by some heavy-ass music, that's metal if you ask me. Country music is still country music if someone screams to it. Remember that we're talking MUSIC here. MUSIC.
I like it all, myself. From Black Sabbath to Bloodbath, from Blind Guardian to Dimension Zero. It pains me to see fellow metalheads being close-minded.
Anyway, as for screaming vocals, why does it have to be so misunderstood? I can understand if you don't like the sound of it, but it's far from "just screaming". Yes, it's screaming, but to discredit it as nothing more than that, acting like it has no meaning, is just wrong. It carries emotion very strongly, perhaps more so than any of the singing you hear in Iron Maiden (Black Sabbath has much more emotional singing, though - this is coming from a huge Iron Maiden & Bruce Dickinson fan, mind you). Screaming may convey a sense of aggression, pain, sadness... Us humans want to scream out loud in a variety of situations (in more than we want to sing, for sure). It is a terrific vocal type in this sense. It goes extremely well with Slayer's musical aggression and lyrical themes. I would not want a Slayer with only singing. It would not fit.
I guess this is a perfect moment for a Bob Dylan quote: "Don't criticize what you can't understand."
Great song, even as a believer | Reviewer: J | 11/25/10
I don't let my faith get in the way of the music I like, and at the same time I don't let music get in the way of my faith. Besides, I don't personally listen to Slayer for the lyrics; I listen to Slayer for the music as a whole. Even with Tom Araya's screaming and singing added in it makes Slayer who they are. And yes, I believe in Jesus.
Absolutely awesome song though, I remember this being blasted very loud before GWAR's set started at their show a month or so ago. It fit the mood perfectly.
And to aleccwilson, I had the privelege of seeing Slayer on the first night of their American Carnage tour with Megadeth. I caught one of Kerry King's guitar picks. I felt like a boss.
God is Love | Reviewer: brian | 11/17/10
God is real and God loves you. This I know from personal divine revelations is absolute truth. Haveing a good relationship with God the Father is awesome. I used to listen to slayer 24/7 and do drugs, and I was Satan's slave. Now I am free because I know God is real and I said yes to Jesus.

this song is great. probably the best slayer song after the seasons in the abyss album and its right up there with black magic, angel of death and war ensemble. the tempo changes in the song are what for me makes it stand out from the rest.
also lol at the guy saying dragonforce scream. clearly never listened to them ever

I have no idea what hes saying unless i read the lyrics. this is not metal. this is screaming to music. its pathetic. the music is great, but those of you who say slayer is lyrical genius need to listen to real metal aka Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc. Slayer, Dragonforce, Cradle of Filth, etc. is simply screaming to music reminiscent of Metallica's.
The future classic metal track of all time ,. | Reviewer: aleccwilson | 12/27/09
This for me is gets more brutal the more you listen to it .
This stuff makes Metallica sound like the Beach Boys.
The lyrics will have all church goers running for their crosses.
Priests will must think Slayer have come straight from hell.
If this is the music that comes from there, i am/have booking my ticket there !
A live slayer gig is a thing all metal fans must see/ hear.
There is nothing like it.
Deaf afterwards you are for certain.
That is if you survive a Slayer Pit that is.
These pits seem to be extra savage.
Its a bit like a pack of Wolves that have not been feed for a month, then someone throws a lump of meat into the arena!
The God Hates Us All tour, which Disciple is the opening track, (And On DVD ) is the best example of thrash music ever by a country mile.
Disciple puts the world in perspective, says it how it is .
