Review about Zakk Wylde Toe'n The Line... awesome! | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Toe'n the Line performed by Zakk Wylde
Zakk Wylde's best work is Pride & Glory. It's heavy, groovy... it's got blues and soul... the album was brilliant and the band even more. The record got great reviews worldwide. Toe'n The Line is my favorite. It shows us the most inspired and ambitious Zakk ever. Back then he was still motivated to make awesome music. Nobody gave a f**k about that southern vibe back in the nineties, but Zakk just did what he wanted. Nowadays, I think Zakk is no longer a believer. He is doing his thing for a living. Black Label Society is successful and so is Ozzy. But his riffs are not exciting anymore. And his singing is just terrible, I'm sorry to say. Zakk was a great singer on Pride & Glory, Book Of Shadows and Sonic Brew. Now he is just another dude playing heavy metal. His guitar sound did not improve either. It is less heavy than it was before. Anyway: he is still a hero, no doubt! I only have to listen to Toe'n The Line to know that he is.
Dave M you said it man thats exactly the tone Zakk Definetly deserves more credit and he definitlyis a kind soul with a badass tallent he can rock hard to ome metal like Suicide Messiah but when he wants to show his soft ide he can play a good hearted tune like In This River or Th Last goodbye. And the fact that he has 3 kids and is married and loyal to his highschool sweatheart just proves that Zakk isent just a Great!! gutair player but a REAL! person with a heart and soul.

As with all things worthwhile, they take time, they take patience and they take sweat. I watched a few videos of Zakk, and at first I thought this guy is different, he jokes, cusses, got a bottle in his hand..this aint no act this is a real deal. This guy is serious. He's just bein himself, and then I watched him play. Lemme say this..my main stays were Santana, Beck Gilmore, but Zakk is unique. Fast as they come, but damn that dude can soul the strings hard. I saw something those few times I watched then I heard a song that just got me to thinkin that this guy might just have hit the all time best as guitarist. Im foggy on dates and years but Road back Home, Way beyond empty and I thank you child, just make me glad to be able to appreciate such artistic guitar. Zakk I was watching Shark Week '07..and I tell ya man..watching a great white Shark get lulled into Tonic immobility is how I feel when I hear you play the soft stuff.. you got into the blood dude..Thanks for bringin your talent to the world Big Daddy.. Zakk Wylde Soars above the rest as an eagle in the world of Commericalism..no selling out with this guy..this guy is a true Guitarist, Pianist, and Musician..The Big man Blessed ya Zakk, thanks for sharing it with the rest of us..God Bless

------ About the song Superterrorizer performed by Zakk Wylde
This could possibly be one of the hardest metal songs ever. I personally think the hardest metal songs are slower. If you can create an aggressive powerful song without having to resort to super speed shredding, you create a masterpiece. Superterrorizer is a perfect example. Yes, the solos are super-speed shredding, but the overall tone of the song slower. I'm not hating on fast metal songs, they're great, but if you can put together something just as powerful and engaging as a super-fast jam, that takes skill. Something of which zakk is not lacking.

------ About the song Layne performed by Zakk Wylde
This is a very sad song... played beautifully (as always) by Zakk Wylde... for those of you who don't know... this song is about Layne Staley, the ex-lead singer of Alice in Chains, who died of drug abuse in 2002... There's nothing much to say about the song itself... except it's a good song and you should definetly listen to it... R.I.P. Layne ! We miss you !

I got to see Black label at Verizon music center for oz fest in 06 I never seen something so great he is the best heavy metal guitarist ive ever seen he plays with his tounge how bad ass is that my favorite album is Mafia. but there all good who am I kidding.
Saw BLS at the Showbox in Seattle 4/30/05. He puts on an EXCELLENT show. My husband has been a fan since he started w/ Ozzy and i am hooked. Love the diversity of his music and the fact he doesn't feel the need to compare his albums. They keep getting better!! Can't wait for them to come back to seattle!!
