You Raise Me Up Lyrics - Josh Groban

Review The Song (52)

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

I'm playing this song on flute on the day I get confirmed. I will it during offering. Right now since I can't go up for distribution. I play songs on flute while others are in line.

I felt silly that this song makes me cry, but now I see it has the same effect on others too. What a beautiful inspiring song. I consider myself a non believer, but this song does something to my heart.Perhaps it gives us hope that we are worthwhile after all.
Glad to know that so many others feel similar responses to this wonderful hymn.

This most beautiful song makes me sadder than any other in my life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/14/11

Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" is posssibly one of the most beautiful songs in the English language. I love it--yet each time I hear it, I cry for hours and become even lower. I guess it it just because he can feel that hope and praise and closeness with God, that I have lost the ability to feel at all. It depresses me so much, yet the beauty and hope and glory of it are there.

a gratitude song to God | Reviewer: mojisola | 6/23/11

To me, this song makes me to remember God's grace and mercy in my life. When i look back into my life, where i was before and where i am now and the hope in Him who is I AM THAT I AM where is taking me to, The joy of knowing THE FATHER of all creation fills my heart.The song makes stronger in my faith.

THANKS | Reviewer: Tso Jude T. | 6/16/11

Thanks so much for this song. When I listen to it, it actually alerts my spirit and illumines my soul and I can really feel the presence of God around me. May the blessings of the Lord continue to flow through that voice and into changing the world.

A Soul-Lifting and Soul-Healing For Me | Reviewer: Toochi Okpalaugo | 3/11/11

Yesterday i woke up downcast. My Spirit was down. I couldn't say my prayers well. I was heavy with worries in my heart. I allowed some issues with a friend got into me and it did eat me up. I hate it when someone takes my being good for granted or being foolish. All these and lots more gave me worry-filled mind.
I regained my whole being few minutes after i played this song - the WESTLIFE version. It was the song of the moment for me. I never knew i had it with other beautiful, soul-healing and soul-lifting songs. I had played it for more than 50 times now and still playing it.
Thank you Josh Groban and WESTLIFE.
God bless y'all!

We are never alone | Reviewer: jacqueline | 10/20/10

As I sat on the top of a hill thinking of the hard time in my life that I was going through, I said a prayer to thank GOd for all that has been done for me as I sat in silence the song came into my head, I came home and looked at the lyrics and I new that it was a message to remind me through good and bad im not alone, thank you to my hero God xxxx

It's my song of testimony | Reviewer: Emma-Enyinnaya Appolos | 10/30/09

Yes, He raise me up to more than I can. The writer of the song might have another person in mind when I wrote the song. But for me, each time I sing this song, I think of Jesus Crhist, the God of the Sabbath, who did not only gave His life to save me, but has remain the champion of my life.
When I look back, and think of where I was in life, with nobody to dricet my path, and remember how Jesus came into my life and thought me the right way, I can't help but to continue in singing it..You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Amazing Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/30/09

Even the younger generation loves this song. I heard this at a festival a month ago, and now our chorus might do this for one of our winter concerts. This would be dedicated to my aunt and grandmother.

it will be my heart to heart song for my mother | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/6/09

i am not a musical person but my mom has had alzheimer's for twelve years. a better more lovely person never existed and it is so how she raised me 'up'. to be good and strong and love God.
I praise anyone who can deliver a message that transcends bad news

A song full of hope | Reviewer: Anders OJ | 3/23/09

I heard the song on a funeral service. It was so wonderful when the grandson sang it for her grandmother. For me it’s a remembrance of Jesus the Lord who lifts us up on the mountains, over the stormy see and carries us on his shoulders. Thank God for the hope.

Thank you, Lord God | Reviewer: Angie | 1/27/09

I just want to thank God for sending this beautiful song to us. God's trying to tell us that he's there for us, through all good and bad times. It really gives you inspiration when you are troubled, to know that he's watching you and will help you.
