This song is likely about dressing up in a skeleton outfit for Halloween since the lead singer is very fond of holidays and is fervently Catholic. Al Hallows Eve was a celtic samhain celebration historically linked to 'all saints day' where parishioners would march around wearing masks so that the vengeful spirits of the dead couldn't cause them harm.

Yes, MAPS is an acronym for My Angus Please Stay, but there is also quite a bit of emotion in the music video, to say the least. She starts crying, and the tears are not for acting purposes. Angus was supposed to be at the shoot of the video, and he was three hours late.

The gold in gold lion to me may be an assosiation to the golden triangle where lots of heiron comes from the lion because its a feirce addiction teh seeds also point to H i agree that the tell me what you saw part is an advice giving segment about the gold lion. its we'll build a fire so it cant be jesus (you can argue the team between you and christ) we to me refurse to the scene of drug addled youth. and the light is acctually a false light and the fire is teh passion for the vice

Although there are few lyrics to go off of, it's a beautiful song. If you look at many songs, their lyrics don't make sense! Maps however deliver's it's message through the repetition of "they don't love you like I love you". Not to bog down on your party, but all you people that get annoyed with this song are obviously soulless vampires that live in a cave somewhere. either that or you're just haters:)

This song reminds me of the end times scenario. Jesus will come and set our hands free, which means he will free us from binding or imprisonment. The seeds are people. The tight crushing shell is growth. Cold desire is lack of love and no followers or pull which is a natural effect of the moon. It's almost like she sees a vision and God is askin her, "what do you see?" Of course he knows what she sees but wants her to say it and to help her understand it. It's a very sweet song. :D

I love this song, since, well since it came out, which is got knows how many years ago, I just now my younger brother was around eight, since we used to sing it together.

It's simple, yes. Everything about it screams simplicity, and I love it for it.

I too, like everytother person on here thinks this song reminds me of their boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse.

My story, isn't me telling him how much I love him, It's me saying I wish his parents didn't have so much of an influence. I've known him for almost five years, and loved him for at least three, and we are going out but he keeps me at an arms length. The reason? His parents keep him away, tell him not to stay and tell him to keep away.
