Wonderful, Wonderful Lyrics - Johnny Mathis
Review The Song (21)
Sometimes we walk hand in hand by the sea
And we breathe in the cool salty air,
You turn to me with a kiss in your eyes
And my heart feels a thrill beyond compare
Then your lips cling to mine, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love.
Sometimes we stand on the top of a hill
And we gaze at the earth and the sky
I turn to you and you melt in my arms
There we are, darling, only you and I
What a moment to share, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love
The world is full of wondrous things it's true
But they wouldn't have much meaning without you
Some quiet evenings I sit by your side
And we're lost in a world of our own
I feel the glow of your unspoken love
I'm aware of the treasure that I own
And I say to myself, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love!

Releasing! Relaxing! A "Wonderful, Wonderful" song indeed! | Reviewer: Albert Wai | 7/24/13
I was born in HK and emigrated to Canada in the 80's. I think I came to learn about this song and Johnny Mathis in the 60's when I was a little older. Ever since, I've loved this and other songs of that period by Johnny Mathis.
A fitting end | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/23/13
Well, I'm 15 just finished Desperate Hosewives and enjoyed the song. I sobbed from when this song started till the end of the whole show. Karen was with her son, Mike was there, Rex, a bunch of other people I remember (and don't), and of course Mary-Alice. My eyes still hurt from crying. I looked up the lyrics because I couldn't hear them (I was too busy trying not to cry). It is indeed, a wonderfully beautiful song.
Mathis music is Wonderful, Wonderful | Reviewer: Peter | 5/4/13
I defy anyone to resist trying to sing along with Johnny on this truly wonderful song! And I hadn't realized that he actually wrote the lyrics which are a beautiful and simple celebration of the soaring sentiments of true love.
Dad used to sing his songs | Reviewer: Celeste | 3/21/13
My Dad used to sing along with Johnny Mathis songs when I was a kid. He brought us up with good music. Loved "Chances Are", Wonderful, Wonderful, Danny Boy, and others. It's nice to see that so many got acquainted with the song "Wonderful, Wonderful" from Desperate Housewives.
Younger Days and timeless memories | Reviewer: Lars | 1/29/13
This song was the precursor of the rest of how things were to be for me and my better half. Every time I hear "Wonderful" it takes me back to my first encounter, my first experience, my first love. I will never forget the joy, the excitement, the expectation of excitement. Johnny Mathis'songs made our world magically real. Hearing his songs made me love my wife.
Scully! | Reviewer: Mark | 6/29/12
First heard this on the X-Files...believe it or not. It was an episode called "Home" About an inbreeding Pensylvania family that kept the quadruple amputee mother under the sink on a skid, and would only pull her out for matining purposes
A very good song to go with Desperate Housewives' Finale | Reviewer: Suraj | 6/20/12
Desperate Housewives was always one of my favorite shows, which obviously put a lot of pressure on it to have a satisfying finale, even though we all admit we'd rather have the show go on...
The montage of the women against the song was just perfect to sum up the spirit of the show!

Chances Are; It's not for me to say; and Wonderful, Wonderful are my favorite songs of Johnny Mathis. It seems songs back then were short and full of meaning. Now, well...you know.
Wonderful, Wonderful Song | Reviewer: Laura in GA | 5/31/12
Love and miss Desperate Housewives. The part in the finale with this song playing was brilliant on the part of the show, and I cry every time I watch the tape. Heard the song years ago, but now it is one of my favorites from the 50s, recorded the year I was born. I'll always miss my Sunday night ritual watching those desperate housewives and the memories of this "Wonderful, Wonderful" song being played during the finale.

Wonderful Wonderful ... a real heartbreaker | Reviewer: gramercy girl | 5/18/12
I was lucky enough to have grown up with Johnny Mathis' music. I've always loved vocal music and his technique was superb. I too heard it on DHs and have been crying ever since. Glad to read about similar reactions. I don't know why they chose that song in particular, but it sure was powerful.
Loved this Song | Reviewer: Joan | 5/18/12
I had forgotten how much I loved this song and the smooth sound of Johnny Mathis voice until it was at the ending of Desperate Housewives finale. I had the show recorded on my DVR and kept playing it over and over. Who ever thought of the idea to tie in all the characters of the show was fabulous. It has so much meaning and made me cry. I miss the beautiful love songs of the past era. This is a gorgeous song.
