Woman Without A Home Lyrics - The Statler Brothers
Review The Song (1)
She was young
and I was older.
She believed everything I told her.
She gave her heart and soul to me
and more I wanted.
She left home
And gave her life to
and I had no right to
Treat her like I treated those before,
But she loved it and wanted more.
Sometimes I'd lie to make her happy.
Sometimes she'd lie to see if I would lie some more.
[ piano ]
I hear now
She's a mother,
North Carolina with her lover.
And I'll bet she daily cusses me
And she's got reason for it.
But I hope life
There is better
But I hope he don't let her
Have too much time to spend alone
'Cause she's a woman without a home.

One of the Forgotten | Reviewer: Mike Ballard | 1/10/2008
Only the most dedicated Statler fans remember "Woman Without A Home." It's not a song most people would ever associate with the group. I think it's one of the many forgotten special songs that the Statlers made even more special. The melody is beautiful, and the lyrical portrait of the woman's nature is very vivid. It's one of their many great songs that has been forgotten, due to their more spectacular big hits. But it shouldn't be.
