With A Little Help From My Friends Lyrics
Artist(Band):The Beatles
What would you do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
I get high with a little help from my friends,
Oh I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends.
What do I do when my love is away.
(Does it worry you to be alone)
How do I feel by the end of the day
(Are you sad because you're on your own)
No, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I'm gonna to try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.
Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,
Oh I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love
Oh...
I get by with a little help from my friends,
I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends
I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my friends

To whoever said this song was about drugs, I think you're a moron. I'm pretty sure the song was about how they need friends to get by in life, and how important friends really are. Also, Across The Universe was a good movie, and it wasn't supposed to be about the Beatles anyway.
Ringo's Friends | Reviewer: J | 6/10/09
Hey Kenneth, if you're trying to imply that Ringo Starr wrote the song by saying "drugs were Ringo's friends", you are absolutely wrong and might as well stop thinking you know all about The Beatles. If you really were "Beatle" smart, you would know that Lennon and McCartney wrote the song.
The Mysterious Introductory Words | Reviewer: Roarie B | 5/21/09
Ok, so I saw some discussion about what the Beatles are saying in the beginning of this song. Some people said they thought it was "Billie Jean" and some other people thought it was "Give my cheese." I guess you guys haven't listened to the whole album through, because if you do then it will all make sense. See, that line is the "introducer" who is introducing Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band announcing the singer "Billy Shears". So if you listen, he is saying "Billy Shears". I know, it can be a hard line to decipher though so I'm not trying to criticize anyone who didn' t know this, just filling you guys in. It goes with the end of the 1st song on the album (the title track), where the introducer interrupts the band saying "I don't really want to stop the show / But I thought you might like to know / That the singer's gonna sing a song / And he wants you all to sing along / So let me introduce to you / The one and only Billy Shears / Of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Then you hear "Billlllly Sheeaaars" and the song "Billy Shears" sings is, of course, "With A Little Help From My Friends." :D

Ok, a few things. First, Across the Universe was just about the dumbest movie I have ever seen. It is still competing in my head with Twilight for that high-ranking title, although Twilight was dumb becuase it ruined the book. But it was also hilarious because of its dumbness, so I think maybe Across the Universe wins. Across the Universe was not even about the Beatles, so it is not even worth discussing. As far as I am concerned, anyway.
Next, everybody knows the Beatles were on drugs for the majority of the time. Despite popular belief, they were also on drugs in the beginning, too, not just Sargeant Pepper. That does not mean they were not astounding musicians. They are my favourite band. And I was not even around to ever see them live.
So why are we even fighting over the message of this song? I personally think that even though the Beatles might have been on drugs when they wrote and performed it, that does not mean it has to be about drugs. I think it is more about getting along with your friends and making do with what you have. Live your life and don't try to be someone else. It never works.
Really? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/6/09
Listen, I know that it is kind of annoying to hear people ranting about how the Beatles were a myth... But look at so many of the past comments, what YOU Beatles fans are saying. Your just keeping the fight going. And are you not going against what so many of the Beatles song's are trying to stress? Everyone has their right to think what ever they wish, but we do not have the right to judge other people thoughts by comparing them to our own. I believe that the more 'Beatles' thing to do is to let them think what they want, and we will just carry on.
On a non-Beatles note, if anyone hasn't noticed, it music... Seriously. Everyone has different taste in music and this goes for BOTH sides, we should not be judging upon the kinds of MUSIC we like... off ALL thing to judge upon... MUSIC?? REALLY???
why the beetles are famous | Reviewer: dylan | 2/7/09
one of the biggest reasons why the beetles are famous is because they had a new wierd sound. when sargent pepper came out, it had all these wierd indian and african instruments. people were dropping acid and listening to this wierd new sound about the drugs they were on.
another missconseption: the song lucy in the sky with diamonds... not about drugs... (well, maybe a bit) but its about a picture johns son drew of a class mate at school named lucy.
you all suck. | Reviewer: kenneth | 12/30/08
of all the peaceful songs with good messages, this ones about drugs. dont try to make it about anything else. ringo's drugs are his friends. and whatever fucking movie someones talking about, especially if its across the universe, it didnt make the beatles any more popular than they were. everyones heard of the beatles. and the smarter you are, the more you can appreciate. its fucking stupid to get mad at the stupid people who hardly understand any of it. odds are neither do any of you. to whoever the hell is saying so what, yea, thatd be a big problem if they hadnt heard of the beatles until they saw some shitty movie. but its not the case. everyones heard of the beatles. everyone knows theyre great and changed music forever like 8 different times. theyre probably the greatest band ever. all people can accept that, no matter their intelligence. end of story.
The Beatles are my anthem | Reviewer: April | 12/2/08

respect | Reviewer: sheshe | 10/7/08
i love the beatles, i mean, i think they're great and that they are the greatest band ever...
but we shall respect everybody's opinion, cause we're all different, and the beatles were always predicting peace... so why do you have to be fighting about this??
but i still think they're GREAT!!
luv'em!<3
