Review The Song (44)Print the Lyrics
When winter falls next year,
I’ll be holding on to anything nailed down.
As for being patient,
With fate and all it's getting old.
And my mind is slowly changing.

I’m calling all my oldest friends,
Saying sorry for this mess we’re in.
And I’m waiting, waiting,
For the sun to come and melt this snow,
Wash away the pain and give me back control, control.

An angel got his wings and we'll hold our heads up,
Knowing that he’s fine.
We’d all be lucky to have a love like that in a lifetime.

Should we still set his plate?
Should we still save his chair?
Should we still buy him gifts?
And if we don’t did we not care?

It makes you think about the life you've led,
The shit you’ve done, the things you've said,
And its grounding, grounding.
I’ve been feeling 3 feet tall this month, hardly indestructible,
But the snow melts and the rhythm still goes on.

An angel got his wings and we'll hold our heads up,
Knowing that he’s fine.
We’d all be lucky to have a love like that in a lifetime.

Friends stay side by side.
In life and death you’ve always stole my heart.
You’ll always mean so much to me it’s hard to believe this.

These nights in vans,
These nights in bars,
Don’t mean a thing with empty hearts.
With empty hearts.

An angel got his wings and we'll hold our heads up,
Knowing that he’s fine.
We'd all be lucky to have a love like that in a lifetime.

Friends stay side by side.
In life and death you always stole my heart.
You’ve always meant so much to me it’s hard to believe.
So much to me it’s hard to believe.
So much to me it’s hard to believe this.

Rest In Peace, Kidd. | Reviewer: gabbbbbbi. | 11/27/09

My friend died almost two months ago. He was only fourteen & we were freshmen in high school. He had a heart transplant when he was about five, & nine years later, his body started rejecting his heart. I found this song right before he passed & this was the first song that came to mind when I heard the news. I miss him terribly<3. Rest In Peace, Michael.

How I feel. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/14/09

This song is great; I found it amongst my brothers music. I just think of my friend James, who died this summer. He suffered from muscular dystrophy. He had just graduated from high school, and then in late July, he fell from a pool he was able to swim in despite his condition, and slipped into a coma. He never made it through the night. I was up at church camp when it happened, and I found out and just broke down crying. Just the week before we had been doing VBS for our church. He was one of the most amazing, funniest people ever to live. He didn't let his condition get him down. Even though we are three years apart, he was still very influential to me. I plan to sing this song in dedication to him at my high schools variety show and the end of the year. The lyrics "An angel got his wings, and we'll hold our heads up, knowing that he's fine."
Rest in peace James. I love you, and I miss you.

My brother (who was also my best friend and understood & knew me more than anyone else) died September 17, 2007. That was the worst day of my life, and the hardest. There have only been a couple songs that I've heard that explained how I feel after losing him, and this is definitely one of them. It's just soo amazing. This and In Loving Memory by Jamestown Story. Both amazing songs, and I dedicate them both to an amazing person.

Rest In Peace

Recently my class, well what would have been, graduated. During our Ninth Grade Year we lost a class member. It all came as a shock, No one expected it. There was nothing wrong with him that anyone could see. When we all got back to school the setting was extremely depressing. You would think its a big school how close could everyone have got? Well we werent a big school. We had maybe 10 kids in a classroom at a time. Everyone was close even if they didnt hang out. You get use to seeing people everyday, joking with them . When everyone realized what happened no one was ready for it. He had a sister who still went to school, and everyone was afraid to talk to her. We didnt want to bring anything up. She laughed and joked like nothing had happened. Well he would have graduated last month if he hadnt passed. My friends did a memorial at the graduation and sang this song. I had never heard it before. When I listened to the lyrics and the emotion my friend, who was best friends with the boy that passed, it was humbling. Because he is in a better place, but we all still feel like that even 4 years later. Should we still get him stuff? Should we set his place? Losing someone is never easy. This song puts into words exactly how you feel. R.I.P Ryan.

Its December and I recently lost a friend to a terrible car accident. This song is so fitting to the way everyone of my friends are feeling, the words are beautiful and so helpful, I wrote some of the lyrics on his memorial wall and they mean so much. Im so thankful for this song to listen to me to remind me of him x

friends stay side by side in life and death x

So many things said. | Reviewer: Scott | 11/9/08

In April my best friend of 5 years ended his life. I was never really into Bayside at the time but my friend had me sit down and listen to this song because he said it helped him with his Father. During listening to it I burst into tears. This song describes exactly what it feels like to loose someone. It touched me in so many ways. This song helped me get through a time that I honestly didn't expect to live 3 days through and now its almost been 7 months. Again simply beautiful.
