Its a story of a boy, who is completly perfect & talented but he neva had a chance to show it & was abused by the family & neglected by the people, some time boy thinks that y its happning whith me ? , who just tried many times to show that my heart is cleaned & m also a good person, ohh comon plz talk to me.
He also wnts sombody 2 talk 2 him, cares 4 him, sombdy who really wants to be him & many more but asusal nobdy listning him, nobdy calld him.
He felt that he's alone in this world becaus people made him flet like this !. So plz evryone don't leave anyone alone, like him (the boy in a story) !.

I believe this is a song about a person who was abused as a child, or there was abuse in the family. His dreams and youth was taken away and all it left was a deep feeling of prejudice against people, and it left him lonely and isolated from society because the scars went too deep. He probably feels like people are not there for him or have never been, and all this person may need is just to have someone to talk to or someone to help.

It's a song about how damaged many individuals may be, but how easily we mask ourselves to not be vulnerable. It's about how selfish many people are and how we never recognize when someone are suffering, or we simply just don't care. That a person in front of you on the bus may be crying out for help, but no one cares to talk to him. The face of pain and suffering may just as well be staring right at you without you caring to notice it.

well to me this means alot more than just all you guys say your all right but to me its more about sitting listening watching things go by the things in life happen but theres more to be seen maaybe beautiful maybe horrible but the meanings of them is all the same in the end

I think he is trying to describe someone who is being ignored and neglected. Perhaps someone who feels very lonely and is searching for something.

Alot of people may have a memory of themselves being prejudiced against someone, even though they knew it was wrong at the time. I know I do.

I think you misconceive the meanings in Windowpane as a sappy love song. It sounds hauntingly like a story of child abuse and the psychological and emotional scars it left on him as a child. Most likely involved drugs or alcohol with the "slurred speech" reference.

The child was so disconnected from the abuse he could not return or an action response as the abuser left (or the child left as an adult).

Viewed in that prism, the song takes on a meaning much apart from love.

this is my favorite band and this song's one of my all time favorites. Opeth is such an incredible band.. they have something that makes everybody, no matter what music they listen, like them.

this is my favorite song by opeth. it really shows there talent in applying other types of music in there own.
