Sadly, the song says she never found the love she was looking for so she decided to love herself instead. What a very lonely way to live. The Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself. It doesn't say you should love yourself. I believe the "love of self" is why there is so much crime in the world today. If we train our children to love themselves, we are in for a lot of trouble. I am sorry that Whitney was not a better example of her faith. She was instead an example of the lyrics of this song.
