Which to Bury, Us or the Hatchet Lyrics - Relient K

Review The Song (23)

I think you know what I’m getting at
I find it so upsetting that
The memories that you select
You keep the bad but the good you just forget

And even though I’m angry I can still say
I know my heart will break the day
When you peel out and drive away
I can’t believe this happened

And all this time I never thought
That all we had would be all for naught

No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
sponsored links
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
Cause you took this too far (too far)

Make your decision and don’t you dare think twice
Go with your instincts along with some bad advice
This didn’t turn out the way I thought it would at all
You blame me but some of this is still your fault

I tried to move you, but you just wouldn’t budge
I tried to hold your hand but you’d rather hold your grudge
I think you know what I’m getting at
You said goodbye and I just don’t want you regretting that

No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you

And wisdom always chooses
These black eyes and these bruises
Over the heartache that they say
Never completely goes away
(I just can’t believe this happened and one day we’ll see this come around)
And wisdom always chooses
These black eyes and these bruises
Over the heartache that they say
Never completely goes away

No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
Cause you took this too far (too far)

What happened to us
I heard that it’s me we should blame
What happened to us
Why didn’t you stop me from turnin out this way
And know that I don’t hate you
And know that I Don’t want to fight you
And know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t…

Hey guys all the stuff put on here is just what people think. for a review. or comment. We don't need to be offended when someone says their opinion on what the song is about. Personally I think this can be interpreted either way and I thought it was really cool when someone related this song to God. I myself believe that God always loves us and may not like our decisions at times. (Which is fine, we're supposed to be growing here. How could we grow without mistakes?) :) This space is for what people think of the song and lyrics not for attacking each other's way of thinking.

well....>.>' y'see | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/16/10

well... y'see it's true that they are a christian band, extremely so too, but they also have songs that express things that happen or could happenin everyday life. so really its either/or there.

here its not a question of its not about God, or its about us not liking God at the moment or vice versa with God not liking us cuz somebody's mad at whatever.

rather, i think its more like 'the christian thing to do' is to not hate, and instead accept, but at the same time, you don't have to be accepting of things all the time. as it is we're human and have a limit. so we can have the option to not like to be around people at the moment in question because of whatever the issue is.

o' course at the same time, the issue seems to be about 'hey i can take what you dish out, but still, i'd like it if you didn't do the dishin today. i tried to change you, but obviously i can't, its something you have to recognise in yourself and do it. sorry, but i do love you, and i'd like for this whole issue to stop.'

the song encourages communication in relationships, romantic, familial or otherwise, and considering that's something relationships tend to lack now... well, i'm glad RK wrote it.

Relient K as a Band | Reviewer: Drew | 7/2/10

Alright. Where to start... :/

I would have to say that the majority of Relient K's music is christian.
Some of their songs are even just funny shorties- sometimes with meanings.

Like, Bee Your Man- its just a funny song.
or Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care- its a silly song about the fact that they just wasted 10 seconds of your life- which has meaning: What else are you wasting your life listening too? Be careful what you spend time listening to.

but they have heaps of music- some are about God, and some are about things in our everyday lives- But that's ok, because unlike secular/worldly music, Relient K's "Not Considered Christian" songs do not contain the same the same "stuff" in them. Such as: Lust- None of their songs about relationships are lustful or crude etc- duh (their a christian band).

Relient K is an awesome band. - They even have Atheists hooked on their music!! XD

guys just because they write songs about relationships doesnt mean they arent a christian band...Iv written songs before about relationships doesnt mean if my brothers band plays them they arent christian

Awesome | Reviewer: Ryntoo | 2/11/10

Never think of them as a christian band, just another awesome band. This song is one of my all time favorites it hasnsome screaming lyrics. There is only about 10 seconds in this song but i still gets me pumped.

mkay. | Reviewer: melissaa | 11/10/09

just because the band has SOME Christian songs does not make them Christian. perhaps the band members are, but this one and another one, 'Must Have Done Something Right', are so obviously not about God and are about relationships.

So calm down.
It's okay if they don't play all Christian or all pop. They're a mix of both, and I find that intensely amazing.

Wtf | Reviewer: Carleigh | 9/5/09

Okay well that peeved me a bit. Sure it may seem to some peopl that this is a Christian song, but really? It just makes me so mad when everything has to do with god. I think that this song is awesome and we should leave the interpretations to ourselves because religion is a very sensitive subject!!

awesome! | Reviewer: Aubree | 2/27/09

i really don't think this is necessarily a Christian song, but it doesn't matter, cuz it's amazing either way! i listen to this song a lot because it describes how i feel with this guy i like. it's awesome:)

Wow. | Reviewer: Sierra | 11/16/08

Relient K is good all around doesn't matter if you think they are christian or not, they are a very good band unlink Flyleaf. If you listen to "deathbed" you will understand that yes, they are a christian band. And yes, this song & all their songs are absolutely amazing.

I think.. | Reviewer: Amy | 11/4/08

It's all about your own interpretation. I never think of Relient K as a christian band. Infact I think most of their songs are love songs. About relationships.

Like these lines for instance..

No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you

That just speaks to me of someone who loves their girlfriend/boyfriend/lover/wife/husband/whatever but just doesn't like them at the moment. They don't want to keep fighting, or keep saying things they might later regret.

I think this song speaks of a relationship slowly disintergrating and that singer wondering what happened to it.

god??? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/14/08

i personally think that it's your own personal interpretation if it's about god, cuz this song to me has nothing to do with god,to me it's like he loves a girl but right now he's not happy with her.

They are really christian | Reviewer: Alli | 8/2/08

Relient K is extremely christian.
In almost every song, they have references.

No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
No, I don’t hate you
Don’t want to fight you
Know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t like you
Cause you took this too far (too far)

Christianity is like a relationship. It requires love from both sides. What this is saying is like he loves god he just doesn't really like him at the moment.
duhh.

this song rocks | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/28/08

Just because Rilent K doesn't sing all christian songs...most of there songs are christian...so thast why they are labled under the gospel music list...you just have to actually listen to the songs and see that they are tlaking about god...

Awesome song!! | Reviewer: Abby | 2/11/08

I love Relient K and this song really describes how I feel right now.....Me and my best guy friend are having a HUGE fight....and I've liked him for 3 years....My favorite part of the song is "And know that I don’t hate you
And know that I Don’t want to fight you
And know I’ll always love you
But right now I just don’t"....Awesome!!!!!!

YAY! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/07

I love Relient K and i think its great that they are fun to listen to even if you're not a christian. It's also cool that not every song they write is about religion, it shows that they can be more than the typical religion band. I LOVE THIS SONG!!! :D
