Babyface When Can I See You Lyrics

Last updated: 07/18/2010 11:00:00 AM

When can my heart beat again
When does the pain ever end
When do the tears stop from running over
When does "you'll get over it" begin

I hear what you're sayin'
But I swear that it's not making sense
So when can I see you

When can I see you again
When can my heart beat again
When can I see you again
And when can I breathe once again
And when can I see you

When does my someday begin
When I'll find someone again
And what if I still am not truly over
What am I s'posed to do then

D'you see what I'm sayin'
Even if it is not making sense
So when can I see you

When can I see you again
When can my heart beat again
When can I see you again
And when can I breathe once again
And when can I see you again

HOOK

Yeah, baby, d'you see what I'm sayin'
Even if it is not making sense
So when can I see you

When can I see you again
When can my heart beat again
When can I see you again, babe
And when can I breathe once again
And when can I see you, baby, again

HOOK x2

Get out your tissues, close the windows, and get ready for a fantastically wonderful, soulful cry. Despite his misleading moniker, Babyface shows us that he's a Man who lives, feels, and knows about love and loss.

His lyrics and masterful vocals render the listener helpless to assist a man in pain, and we share his pain and confusion. All he can recognize is that he is dying slowly, painfully, and just wants to be spared from the endless spiral of emotional torture.

What makes this song a winner is not the simplicity of its lyrics, but from Babyface's ability to consistently deliver a performance that shows he truly is in a moment where he feels exactly what he is breathing life into.

Being able to experience the profound ups and downs of life is a gift, and being able to help us truly experience another human's moments is an even greater gift. Babyface is the gift that keeps on giving.
