It was a hard time for all of us... She didn't leave a note and none of us realised she was this unhappy. This song reminds me of her in a strange way. Aaron Lewis had this to say: ""Waste" is about a kid that killed himself and I guess was a big fan of Staind. His mother came to a show of ours and stood outside the bus crying kind of wanting me to come off the bus and talk to her and give her answers to all the questions she had when I didn't know the kid.
