WAR PIGS Lyrics - Black Sabbath
Review The Song (19)
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerer of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that all to the poor
Time will tell them they are power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
sponsored linksWait 'til their judgement day comes
Now in darkness, world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercies for their sins
Satan laughing, spreads his wings
OH LORD YEAH!

This song is obviously about the Walpurgis Night, wich was a pagan ceremony where bodies where burning to praise the god of fertility, satanist took this date to conmemorate the birth of Satan
Just A War Song | Reviewer: Rodelio Lalenoh | 6/20/13
This Song Obviously About WAR, Not Important War, Just For Their (Politicians and Stupid Generals) Selfish... They Made A Provocation For The Poor And A War Began..... And Lyrics "Satan laughing, spreads his wings." Not A Anti Religion , but Satan Laughing For The Stupid Poor, who Easily Got Provocation, Made a War and A Sins, I Think The Hell Will Filled Of Full of These People .. Haha
This Song Is Just To Critize Them

good song! | Reviewer: SoundWave | 6/19/12
This is indeed a song about the politicians and generals when
Judgement day comes they will grovel to spare there lives and Satan laughing because he used them and about this song being satanic I don't want to step on the toes of sabbath fans but this songtext was changed. The original text.was about witches blood and black masses. The song is old but it's still actual in my opinion
Not Satanic. | Reviewer: Tom | 6/3/12
People seriously think that this song is Satanic. I know someone who thought Black Sabbath was Satanic because of the title. He's a Christian. I am a Christian too. I tried to him that it isn't Satanic, but he was saying; "Get it off. It's Satanic, get it off". I like the song. It's talking about how the world is at the moment. And how it will be when God returns. People will be trembling because they realise that they are not a Christian and that they will be punished for their own sins and will be thrown into hell for eternity. When it says; "Satan laughing, spreads his wings", I think it is talking about when God and Satan battle for the last time.
Christian Lesson | Reviewer: Jose | 10/30/11
Isn't this what Christians teach? Generals and Politicians, the constructors of war and death? They're ending the lives of people they don't even know. Song ends by those war and death creators begging for thier own lives when judgement day comes. Also how politicians hide and let the poor do their fighting? Sound familiar? Satan laughing, spreads his wings? Politicans and Generals taken for fools.
Amazingness, not satanic | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/16/11
This song is amazingly accurate at what the world is! I don't get how people think this is Satanic. I swear, if you add the word Satan or Devil in a song, it's demented. -.- Look people, all it's saying is that there are war pigs, and when judgement day comes, they're gunna be in a heckova lot of trouble

For almost 40 years this song has told me to Fight the Power, and oppose all those who would have us kill each other just to make themselves a few bucks. (The lyrics still ring true today - A War Pig is a War Pig - Bite me Dick Cheney!!)
Legendary song. | Reviewer: Mr. Premium | 5/12/09
War Pigs is absolutely legendary, but I can't see how anyone listening to this and reading the lyrics could possibly think War Pigs is about praising satan! Only the biggest of dribbling cretins could possibly come up with such ideas, it's very obviously an anti-war song. The song "Black Sabbath" could be misread as satanic, but not this!
stupid 70's | Reviewer: ya mum | 3/26/09
i dont think half of the earths population actually GOT what ozzy meant in these lyrics
most (not all) lyrics back then were straight up...therefore making people think he was singing DIRECTLY about satan and worshipping him haha
Great song! | Reviewer: JRod | 2/21/09
Awesome song, definately Black Sabbath at their finest. Although, I think jjj's comment about how another revolt is coming is a load of bull sh*t. There are so signs that there will be a revolt any time soon.

I went to one in high school and they quickly abandoned their attempt at claiming that hard rock bands were evil once a friend and I SHOWED them some lyrics from a few of Ozzy's songs.
At the time, I wasn't familiar with this song but it would've made our goal easier I'm sure.
word | Reviewer: jjj | 4/4/08
every single word in this song is still true from the era of vietnam and a revolution against the government till now with the conflict in the east... a second revolt is coming and the time is now... black sabbath said it right the first time nearly fourty years ago...

What? | Reviewer: Sabbathgoodbutwatdis? | 11/2/07
I can't believe that these lyrics were changed from the basement tapes version that so many people know to this version that I've only heard once out of about 20 times I've heard this song.
