i think this is a good song most rockstars do drugs thats the thing for rockstars my cousin shannon hoon was a rockstar until he died of herion and cocaine so its basically the typical rockstar thing to talk about weed and herion and cocaine. But i like this song becaus of what it is talking about.

And if my Jedi skills are as strong as I know they are then it's Heroin, NOT Methamphetamines. Coming from a recover addict of both, unless my mind was that cloudy, I never used a flame to melt my Meth to put it in my veins, only in my lungs. I smoked Meth for a short time til I started shooting BOTH of them. Yes it's stupid, yes I was really screwed up in the head, but I survived it and can have memory enough to share my tails, which makes me the strong man I am today. These are just a few of many reasons why I enjoy Godsmack's Music so much. Shows me I wasn't alone after all, that true hope that can't be conjured, generated or procreated. Pure, unadulterated Hope!

Your last thought is correct, it's about both. I can't remember which one of them, or how many of them I should say, were Heroin addicts, but now a few of them share an eclectic Neo-Pagan veiw on life which gives the song it's double meaning. In fact if you go through all of their songs you'll find many more about many other situations but mostly aimed at their past lives, relious views, and a new strong bond to the Mother Goddess. Especially Voodoo, the Snake bite can represent the needle of a surange or in some pagan beliefs the snake represents the Mother Goddess, or even in Christian Mythology the Snake represented temtation; which is mentioned in many, many of their other songs. Believe me Godsmack are artists and they can get a little deep, but unless you have lived a similar life you'll never truly understand how simple they really are. "Nuff said."

my family has listened to this song, I Carry on the tradition, wether it is about drugs, or wiccan/voodoo rituals does not matter, it depends on how you interperet it, so there is no need to argue, I dunno about you other pple, but I can't read minds, if u can that is friggin' cool, but were u there to read there minds when they sing? so for all we know it could b 'bout both!

99 percent of the songs out now are apparently about drugs. You'd think after like 50 years people would find a new subject, but obviously not. Shows how stupid the general population of people really is. Even if a song is about drugs I find my own meaning in it. So whatever. Doesn't really matter and NOBODY cares.
