------ About the song Shasta (Carrie's Song) performed by Vienna Teng
to last person....yes. It's a girl who got pregnant after leaving home under tense circumstances, who went to get an abortion but was disuaded by "the nice christian lady"...and now this girl is driving back home to try to salvage relations with her family and ..... reveal her predicament.
Vienna explained a bit at a concert Isaw her at.

------ About the song Shine performed by Vienna Teng
These inspiring lyrics are, in some ways, less fanciful than Shawn Mullins' "Shimmer": the threat to equanimity is akin to the claw and tooth of humanity. Learning is the goal.
"Tell your story now" echoes N. Young's lyrics from "Are You Ready for the Country?"

------ About the song Green Valley Serenade performed by Vienna Teng
It was so popular that I used to hate this song.
But as time goes by, I have become to love it so much. And now that I am far away from home and I miss hearing the song.
Vienna Teng sings it well, but I also would like to hear some older versions from decades ago.
Sublime | Reviewer: Mark
------ About the song Green Valley Serenade performed by Vienna Teng
The Mandarin tongue - albeit alien to me - has a wonderful tuneful sway. This song floats tenderly upon its lyrics, flowing smoothly along to disperse the flotsam of intangible woes. For me, at least.
I've just put this track on as i eat my porridge. What a blissful start to the day! I'm transported to another time as i listen...
My 9 years old daughter loves this song. She says that she feels like flying when she hears it... :-)
Lovely song!

------ About the song Green Valley Serenade performed by Vienna Teng
this song is gorgeous. it has a beautiful piano accompaniment, and teng sings very fluently. as i have no idea of how chinese is supposed to sound, i can't say whether it was perfect, but it sounded fabulous to me. the song is quite mournful in tune, but has a sort of happy tone in it. subliminal as that tone may be, it is there. the song is, in sound, very sublime, and its translated lyrics are even better.
all in all, i definitely recommend this song to any vienna teng fans, or any who are thinking about purchasing her songs.
gravity of the universe | Reviewer: Dorothy
------ About the song Gravity performed by Vienna Teng
we are like natural satellites of love, and its the law of gravity that keeps us close... i hope one day i will fall into this sun and burn
this song is mor upbeat than the other songs of vienna teng. but i like the music a lot because listening to it feels like waking up early in the morning under your special someone's embrace and you feel nothing but happy that you have him by your side. and that his happiness makes you leap out of the bed to happily make him his breakfast...the melody and the rhythm of the song is just great. i really love the music of vienna. she's just one of those few musicians in this world who can touch my soul. i sometimes imagine that if i get to meet her i person, we might get along very well...like soulmates do!

Eerie but Lovely | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Passage performed by Vienna Teng
This gives me goosebumps... very sad, very eerie. I think it would have had more of an impact if only some of it was a cappella, though, because it loses the effect if it's too much.
Between is still my favorite song by Vienna Teng. =)

It's amazing. not only that but Vienna Teng has managed to match her chords so well with the lyrics. i almost get the vibe of what she was writing about. Probably the most moving song ever written. | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Homecoming (Walter's Song) performed by Vienna Teng
A deeply human, profoundly thought-provoking, very moving song. The beauty in "Homecoming" lies in the depths of feeling that Teng finds in the mundane. A homecoming, a waitress, a motel room -- things that most of us might treat as incidental figures and features of our lives. That Teng sees meaning and significance in these shows the mark of a deeply spiritual, introspective mind -- one that might encourage us not to ignore the beauty that lies in what we often think of the average.
A felt experience | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Gravity performed by Vienna Teng
A truly deep song with much lines written between the lines..... you have to have been there to know what she's trying to say, and what her heart feels... Its so much more intense than one might realise reading those lyrics...the song speaks of hurt and of love...of lost love...what happens when gravity takes hold of an object - it falls hard and fast...back to reality. I've had the law of gravity carved on me, when you realise your hopes for someone, the things they said, the things they didnt say all are suddenly faced with the reality of the situation...Gravity.
