Ever since then I've listened to this song everyday, about ten times a day. It's my ringtone and everything. I love it. THIS IS MY SONG!!!!!!!! | Reviewer: d | 3/26/2008 wow, this song is beautifully written. This is part 2 of a sad, crushing emotional ride that he had with a girl. Vermillion PART 1 talked about how he was with a girl that he fell in love with at some point. Later on down the line he had come to realization that he was infatuated with the idea of her, but in reality...didnt love who she was. He fell in love with her sex and the wild side that drove him crazy about her, but cant figure out why the hell he's still with her. Regardless, he stayed with her and endured unsurpassed amounts of pain while she cheated and became a horrible person towards him. He holds on through all of that, to his infatuation with her and stays in love even though he knows that she's not really who he fell in love with. Vermillion PART 2 is him deciding and mentally committing himself to end the infatuation and walk away from her. He's still as passionate about loving who she "used to be" but knows that for his own sanity and happiness he has no choice but to leave her. There is a Vermillion PART 3 as well that we will hear later and I can only imagine that it will be the final stage when he leaves her. I was in a relationship (engaged) and was infatuated from the passion and sex too, and the girl was horrible to me. She cheated non stop, treated me horribly, and was selfish about her own needs. I hated it but I was so in love with the girl that I put up with it because I was in love with the sex and who i "though" she was. This song series touched me, and this is the reason I love slipknot so much. Dont let people convince you that slipknot is just a bunch of yelling, screaming, god-haters lol...theyre very talented, and the more you sit and listen to the intricacies of their music the more you realize their extreme talent.
