He excels in multiple venues: the artist, the actor, singer, athlete and sex symbol all blended with a charismatic personality, enhanced by a spirit of humility. Now all grown up, Vaughn Anthony has reinvented himself. He is becoming a strong soulful presence in the music industry. VA served as John Legend’s back-up singer from 2005-2010 while writing songs and developing his signature performance. John has been and still is supportive of Vaughn continuously encouraging him to embrace his own super-stardom. Emerging from the Shadow of a Legend has required Vaughn to dig deeper into his soul and allow the flow of his magnetic energy to speak volumes. He has the rare gift of being able to bare his soul on any track and lends an edgy Generation Y swagger which creates authentic and timeless tracks.
Instead of shying away from the reality of being John Legend’s little brother, VA has embraced the blessing. He has a deep appreciation for his God-given talent and the rich heritage of his family.VA has shared the stage with many influential artists including India Arie, Estelle, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Raphael Saddiq, Ghostface, Styles P, Robin Thicke, Blue Miller, Black Chiney, The Runners, Mr. Vegas and of course John Legend.
Vaughn has graced some of the world’s hottest stages. He has thrilled fans all over Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S. His unique sound has been heard in such world class venues as Royal Albert Hall, Brixton, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Hieghietten Arena, just to name a few.
In late September, VA headlined a goodwill effort in Cuba to increase morale of the U.S. troops stationed at the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay. He also consistently gives back to the community and is a strong supporter of worthy causes. He has performed for various local festivals and events.
