Van Halen Lyrics

2004 - Van Halen's reunion with Sammy Hagar comes as no
shock to the music world as it has been talked about for
months. Split from the band back in 1996, Hagar has
enjoyed success as a solo artist, while Van Halen has
fallen abit from the elite. Now with the red rocker back
at the helm, the band is set to return to the number 1 hit
making machine that so-well defined the hagar era.

Brothers Alex and Edward Van Halen formed the band with
bassist Michael Anthony, and former front man David Lee
Roth in the mid-70's. Hailing from More...

------ About the song Mean Street performed by Van Halen

The best introduction of the genius of edward, the first 30 seconds are just atomishing, and then a fabulous riff coming just from heaven. I was 13 when i first heard it on my walkman(i'm 42),and i'm still on shock, even now.the best secret of vh career, including all fair warning album, all the harmonics are creative and memorable.
"Come on Dave, give me a break!"

------ About the song Dreams performed by Van Halen

This is a great song. It always brings tears to my eyes. I battled through a very difficult time when I was 20 years old and this song always brings me back 25 years and lets me remember who stood by me when I was at my rock bottom. Twenty five years later and I am now standing on top of the world. My story is a complex one. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and I was running with a bad crowd. It didn't make me a bad person though, but unfortunately I was judged as one (deservingly so) I overcame a lot and I am so proud of how far I have come. Whenever I hear this song I can't help but tear up as there is still lots of pain inside from mistakes that I made. One thing though is that I used all of this to move forward and be a better person. So baby dry your eyes, save all the tears you've cried, cause that's what dreams are made of.

------ About the song Dreams performed by Van Halen

Now this is what real rock music sounds like, not that death metal TRASH!

I've wanted to be a fighter pilot my whole life. I want to create my own animated series. This song will be in it if I can make it. A song, to give hope for our veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. "So, Rangers, dry your eyes. Save all the tears you've cried. That's what dreams are made of. Marines, we belong in a world that must be strong. That's what dreams are made of!"

The song's subject is a woman wearing men's underwear in a Calvin Klein print media advertisement. Roth wrote the lyrics while the advertisement was tacked onto his Sony Trinitron television

Lyrics like they are sung on record | Reviewer: Steve C
------ About the song Unchained performed by Van Halen

I believe the "(Come on Dave give me a break)" wasn't really part of the original lyrics. During the recording Ted Templeman, the producer, said this to David Lee Roth over the intercom. Probably the "Hey hey hey hey! One break, comin' up!" was also not part of the original lyrics, just a response from Dave to Ted.
