Depeche Mode Useless Lyrics

Last updated: 12/05/2011 10:00:00 AM

Well it's about time
It's beginning to hurt
Time you made up your mind
Just what is it all worth

All my useless advice
All my hanging around
All your cutting down to size
All my bringing you down

Watch the clock on the wall
Feel the slowing of time
Hear a voice in the hall
Echoing in my mind

All your stupid ideals
Got your head in the clouds
You should see how it feels
With your feet on the ground

Here I stand the accused
With your fist in my face
Feeling tired and bruised
With the bitterest taste

All my useless advice
All my hanging around
All your cutting down to size
All my bringing you down

All your stupid ideals
Got your head in the clouds
You should see how it feels
With your feet on the ground

Call me crazy, but I hear a highly electronic sounding "Die, die, die... die, die, die" in the last 8 or so seconds of the song. It wasn't included in the album lyrics, but I think it's intentional none the less. DM is full of these little gems.

this is a useless comment indeed.
I am not a fan of this band, but when I first listened to this song, it made me feel like "this is an amazing band". The song and the lyrics are suggestive and this song really made me think and reflect on past experiences.

The more I listen to music, the more I expand my personal horizons.

Amazing Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/20/08

This song is just amazing, most of the remixes are pretty awesome as well, it really does just set the mood for day dreaming and chillin out. To hear the best remix of it (in my opinion anyways), I would check out "The Kruder + Dorfmeister session" this version you can find on youtube and it rocks.

A Useless Review | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/1/08

When i first listened to this song i had no idea who it was by or what the song was called. I had never heard anything like it before. My usual scene is drum&bass so it was a pretty different experience. It certrainly is something that takes you away, gets you drifting. It sets the mood for a multitude of events. I first heard it at a party and even with the lack of tempo and clammer of electro sounds it still did the job.
I now however have just relized that there is like six different versions of it, and i have no idea which one i heard. Iv got the one with the rolling bassline, seems to drift to and fro as you listen, the keys flirt with its deepness without steeling away the power of the lyrics. all i can say is that its one of my new favourite tracks. And that this is truely a useless and creepy review
