Unrepentant Lyrics - Trivium

Review The Song (11)

A poor man
With four daughters
A wife and a son

Daughter commits adultery
Or so he was told
Bought a knife and machete
After Friday's prayers
Fear the young would follow old
Thought all must be killed

For your honor
You will slaughter
Every one of your daughters

For your honor
You will slaughter
It's you who should be slaughtered

Terror grips the steel with hunger
sponsored links
thirsting to avenge it's soiled pride
Ashamed mad man

You take their lives away as they sleep
The blade kisses at their throats
Love bleeds without a chance to weep
You take, you take their lives away

You're the man unrepentant
Don't you realize
You murdered your own children
Call that honorable cause?

For your honor
You will slaughter
Every one of your daughters

For your honor
You will slaughter
It's you who should be slaughtered

Terror grips the steel with hunger
thirsting to avenge its soiled pride
Ashamed mad man

You take their lives away as they sleep
The blade kisses at their throats
Love bleeds without a chance to weep
You take, you take their lives away

For your honor
You will slaughter
Every one of your daughters

For your honor
You will slaughter
It's you who should be slaughtered

Terror grips the steel with hunger
thirsting to avenge its soiled pride
Ashamed mad man

You take their lives away as they sleep
The blade kisses at their throats
Love bleeds without a chance to weep
You take, you take their lives away

Do any of u check your facts? | Reviewer: Lanz | 2/18/12

If any of you had botherd to do your reasearch you would know that only one of you is correct. It is about a specific murder where the man killed his step daughter because he believed she was unfaithful and his younger daughters because he did not want them 2 be the same. The song is off the crusade album which has 3 other songs written about other specific murders of great cultural significance in recent times.

honour killing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/30/11

its about honour killings. although in muslim countries which are very chauvanistic, their rules are that if a woman gets raped its her own fault. their high priests say shit like earthquakes are caused by women commiting adultery or wearing make up like "whores" and thats why they have to be covered up. they should confront their muftis and religious superiors for spreading bullshit like this before making a bomb threat on the west.

this song is not necessarily singling out a particular group instead its matt heafy's upset that these sort event occur.

do catholics go to church at friday? Lol, dont know bout that, i'm a protestant. But i do know that muslims go to the mosque at friday, cause when i go to a restaurant for lunch, it's closed for friday's prayers. That sucks (no offense muslims). Anyway love the song! Rocks like hell

the real story | Reviewer: Jeff | 5/9/10

The real story behind this song is about a man named Nazir Ahmad, in 2005 this man killed his oldest daughter, she was a step daughter, and then his three other daughters because his oldest she married a man he didn't approve of and was told she ran away from her husband cause she committed adultery, which is false, she actually was running cause her husband was abusing her and making her work in a brick making factory. so he killed her and his three daughters because he was sure the youngest would do what she did. he did it because since he was poor all he had was his honor and his daughter made him look bad. he bought a a butcher's knife and a machete after Friday's prayers and hid them in his house. everything about this story is in the song, this is nothing to do with Catholics or anything like it.

You guys got it all wrong | Reviewer: ignortantrepublican69 | 9/19/09

nononononononono. this song is obviously about a Christian killing his muslim daughters because they stole from the local convenient store (adultery). He didnt like that his daughter was a criminal and needed to take the law into his own hands. and slaughter his daughters for his honor, even though it was him who should be slaughtered. its not anti Buddhist, but it is slightly anti hindu. because the honor killing of daughters is very prominent in hindu culture and is a regular act of warfare on a local tribe. you see he is unrepentant because he must be, because you see, he has to be.

what this song truly means.... | Reviewer: holyriot618 | 8/21/09

well i guess it's clear for everybody to see that this song is about a muslim(cuz of the fridays prayers part)who's daughter committed adultery and actually this song is so real and powerful but i guess ppl misunderstanding Islam itself right here cuz the punishment of adeltery isn't by blades or knifes or even machete it's by slanging 100 slangs for the unmarried girl but it's stoning till death for the married one ,"but" there are still some muslims who kill there daughters just like what said in the song lyrics but they're kinda narrow-minded or they're misunderstanding Islam cuz there're lotta muslims still act like how ppl acts before Islam
i hope that what i've said is helpful and i'm sorry for my english cuz i'm not a native speaker

Ahh idiots | Reviewer: Ariz | 6/19/09

OMG you idiots..this has nothing to do with religeon..the friday prayer part is cause that guy is a muslim but its about how fucked he was in killing his daughters.. and no Islam does not allow this!

Islam made honour killings stop in pre islamic arabia..the pre islamic people were the ones that practiced this..this man may go to friday prayers but he obviously isnt a true muslim

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazir_Ahmad_(Burewala_resident)

thats the killing

anyways great song..fuck the person who killed his daughters

Muslims and Adultery | Reviewer: Alex | 12/30/08

Adultery in the Muslim world can be punishable by death (stoning). Or in the case of these lyrics a different means of killing, it seems that the father must kill his daughters otherwise be seen as the father of a whore? Thats my take on it anyways..

no | Reviewer: dtb | 9/23/08

The song is about a Muslim extremist killing his daughter(s) in an act of "honor killing". The lyrics "after friday's prayers" point to the person being Muslim, as friday is a holy day in Islam (like Sunday for Christians + Jewish).

What the hell is that kid talking about... | Reviewer: Blitz | 1/9/08

I dunno what the hell the last kid was smoking when he wrote his review but I'll assume a mix of glue and plastic.

This song is sick; both in the sense that it rocks and that its about a pretty disturbed topic. It's about how back in the 1800's and early 1900's catholics were extremely strict in the rules they followed and any breaking of them resulted in both shame to the family who's member comitted them and harsh repercussions for the one who broke them.

No, this is not anti-religious, it's merely a fact that at the time catholics lived strict life and held strong beliefs in their religion.

Yes I Am!!! | Reviewer: Rice Cream | 9/29/07

This song must be about a Kid Called Mr Matto The heafy And I think matt heafy was thinking of Beau When he wrote it... It recalls when matt was a little kid and was murdered by his father... Thank you For Your Creepy Sunno!!!
