Unexpected Song Lyrics - Sarah Brightman

Review The Song (9)

From Song and Dance I have never felt like this
For once I'm lost for words
Your smile has really thrown me
This is not like me at all
I never thought I'd know
The kind of love you've shown me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

I don't know what is going on
Can't work it out at all
Whatever made you choose me
I just can't believe my eyes

You look at me as though
You couldn't bear to lose me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

I have never felt like this
For once I'm lost for words
Your smile has really thrown me
This is not like me at all
I never thought I'd know
The kind of love you've shown me

Now, no matter where I am
No matter what I do
I see your face appearing
Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

Like an unexpected song
An unexpected song
That only we are hearing

Can't say I care one way or another who wrote it, only that Sarah Brightman BRINGS music to life. She is a "knockout" and this 66 y.o. man washes his cars in the driveway with her music playing loud and clear and could care less who hears it. She herself is an "unexpected dream"

Unexpctedly wonderful | Reviewer: Heather | 3/19/09

This song was only introduced to me literally yesterday but as soon as we sung it in our singing lesson I knew I HAD to find this song, it's just so amazing and describes so many feelings you have when you're with someone you love.
This is yet another fine example of Andrew Lloyd Webber's ability to catch emotions into a song without ruining them or making them sound cheeey and cheap :)

Honey, Sondheim -- who actually is a far greater composer than Lloyd Webber (his name is NOT "Webber" as it is a double-barreled English name -- most certainly did not write this Lloyd Webber song, which is one of ALW's most delightful. Please check Musicals101.com, it is a great site and you need it.

A very simple, tender song | Reviewer: mitchell | 1/27/08

I first heard this in London at a performance of "Song And Dance" in the 80s with ny partner of 30 years who died 2 years ago. Although we had already been together for 10 years this became our song." To this day I can't hear the words:
"I just can't believe my eyes
You look at me as though
You couldn't bear to lose me"

without breaking down. Peters sang it beautifully, and so did Betty Buckley.

A one of a kind song, just like my love for my husband..... | Reviewer: Melissa | 12/3/07

My best friend sang this song for a choral contest in high school almost 20 years ago and it's simplicity got me from the first time. I knew when I needed to pick a song for my wedding two years ago.........this was it.

Love in every form is like an unexpected song...........one we all yearn
for and can't imagine the sound until it's graced our ears.

Um...Sonheim wrote this...not Weber...

But yeah, this song is amazing. Bernadette Peters also performs it fantastically...this song is just so...moving

unexpected tenderness | Reviewer: f | 3/26/07

For me, I love the lines:
"I just can't believe my eyes
You look at me as though
You couldn't bear to lose me"

She sings it very tenderly.:)

unexpected song | Reviewer: mel | 8/4/04

WOW. this song bowled me over when i heard it. the line:"that only we are hearing" is the best line with regards to melody etc. all i can say again is wow. what a great song. andrew lloyd webber deserves all the praise he gets.
