Wake me up inside
Tell me theres a reason
To take another step
To get up off my knees and,
Follow this path of most resistance
And wherever it takes us,
Whatever it faces and wherever it leads,
So wake me when its through
I don't want to feel, the things that you do (The things that you do)
Don't worry I'll be fine
I just don't want this dream, wake me up inside
Something for the pain, just to kill this feeling
Though we look awake, Inside we're all still sleeping
And I've spent my time here alive, but barely there.
Do you believe we will ever make it?
Do you think we'll ever really see?
So wake me when its through
I don't want to feel, the things that you do (The things that you do)
Don't worry I'll be fine
I just don't want this dream, wake me up inside
Wake me up inside
these dreams all die if we let them
wake me up inside
today wont start if we just give in
(CAUSE YOU'LL BE ANYTHING)
Just wake me when its through
I don't want to feel, the things that you do (The things that you do)
Don't worry I'll be fine
I just don't want this dream, wake me up inside

Review about Under The Knife forget about it | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/18/09
guys, who the hell cares what the lyrics mean? its a good song, and you don't see anyone arguing with that. Forget what the damn lyrics mean and just listen to songs for the songs themselves, not to find some secret meaning that Rise Against may or may not intended
its about plastic surgery. i think...but its all about everyone's individual interpretation of the song. and by the way, 'never back down' only encourages the gladiator society of ignorant twats who think its the world against them...how sad that is. but don;t take it personally if you like the move, just coz its the internet doesn't mean your a hero. peace

Ok for all of you guys, you know this song for one of this three reasons: Either you saw the movie "Never Back Down", or you just saw the paintball video from StealthMedia Productions, about San Diego NPPL, or you just know it because you are a Rise Against fan, and if you are a fan, it's just because you heard one of their songs somewhere, possibly in a video, or in a movie, or in the radio, so don't criticise others just because they know this song from a movie. It's a good song, not my favourite, personally I think Tip the Scales is better, but there are betters bands...For example, Seether is in the same genre and it's a lot better...Stone Sour too...But stop the arguing.
agreeing to good song, bad fans | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/23/08
Ok, i get on this website, and i look at my fav's bands lyrics(even though sometimes i think i know them lol)which this band happens to one of my favorites, and everytime i read the reviews, i see people arguing bout what the lyric mean. WHO GIVES A F***!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Just listen to the song, i mean, Rise Against made these lyrics to mean more than one thing. For example, The Good Left Undone, a ton of people battle it out voting on wat those lyrics actually stand for in life. Some say it's bout him breaking up wit his girlfriend, some say it's bout suicide, others say the envirpment, i say cuz they felt like writing a good song! who agrees wit me?

What's wrong with people liking a song because they heard it from a particular place? Why does it matter where they heard it? What gives you the right to tell people what they can't listen to purely because of where they discovered it?
Oi, if you're a fan of this song purely from Never Back Down, then bugger off. I still don't quite know what the lyrics are supposed to mean, nor, quite frankly, do I give a fuck. It's just a good song by a good band. It's that simple.
Wow, you're really a fag. Why do you think it was put in the movie? you dumbass.
To advertise, and it worked.
Wow, you really suck.

Well im not really a huge fan of rock but i gotta admit this song is really sumthin i first heard it on the movie Never Back Down which is by the way one of the sickest movies ive ever seen, the song fits perfectly in that certain scene it was played in
Awesome Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/12/08
This is just an awesome song. There are no words to explain it.
I first heard it on the movie 'Never Back Down' and along with many of the other great soundtracks on there, this song ties in perfectly with it.
It is 1 of the best songs i have heard and top 5 i have heard from this band for sure.
Thanks Rise Against.
