Under Pressure Lyrics - My Chemical Romance

Review The Song (48)

(originally by David Bowie/Queen)

Pressure!

Pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure
That burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets

Bah bah dah bah bah dah
(Yeah) (Yeah)

That's okay!
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Scream "Let me out!"
Pray tomorrow takes me higher
sponsored links
Pressure on people
People on streets

Bah bah dah bah bah dah
Okay!

Chippin' around
Kick my brains round the floor
These are the days
It never rains but it pours
Bah bah dah bah bah dah

People on streets
bah dah dee da day
People on streets
bah dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Scream "Let me out!"
Pray tomorrow takes me higher (higher)

Yeah!

Turned away from it all
Like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love
But it's so slashed and torn

Why? Why? Why?
Love (love)! Love (love)! Love (love)!

Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love give love give love?
Give love give love give love give love give love?

Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care
For the people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our ways
Of caring about ourselves

This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves under pressure

Under pressure
Under pressure

AHHH! HOLY CRAP! | Reviewer: (: | 9/13/2008

Ok, I just bought this song on my iTunes, and I ABSOLUTELY love it! I also just heard the original "Under Pressure" On the radio yesterday, and I screamed! I love both of them, but I can't say I like either one better. The old one is so good in being old fashioned, but the new one is so cool! (: I love MCR! ---Come to TENNESSEE! :D

i'm a huge queen fan and i absolutely love bowie. i think my chemical romance and the used did a really great cover though i still prefer the original. they really stuck to the original but managed to make it their own. i think they did an amazing job keeping the intregrity of the song. huge props.

I think that David Bowie and Queen did make a fantastic song, but My Chemical Romance and The Used have made it more up-to-date and another re-do of this song was done by Kean.
The original, is amazing and a classic, but the re-do that My Chemical Romance and The Used have done is also grrrrrrrrreat and Keans is also good. They are all different and all amazing.
So if you really like this song, then I suggest listening to the original as well.

(the dead end) from the black parade....
its so gooood......
i also like gee, his voice is different from other band vocalists....

Hey, this is by The Used too! Give them some credit, they're just as awesome as My Chem. This song wasn't even on a MCR album, but it was on In Love And Death (even if Bert didn't want it to be). They BOTH collabarated when covering this song.

Awsome! | Reviewer: dark shadows | 1/12/2008

Hm... | Reviewer: Caitlyn | 11/27/2007

My Chemical Romance is my favorite band. The Used is another awesome band that I like to listen to. I've heard the original "Under Pressure". I can honestly say that not one is better than the other. These two amazing bands have covered a song and have managed to do it well. I don't like them because they're "hot" or whatever people are whining about when speaking of "fangirls" ("Anonymous" number three). Frank Iero is my hero because of the way he plays guitar, and I fell in love with MCR because of Gerard's voice and the way Frank, Mikey, Ray, and Bob play. If you insist on saying that the only reason a "fangirl" could possibly like this cover more than the original is because they like MCR and The Used better, guess what? You're probably right! The true fans--you know, the ones who fell in love with the *sound*, not the look--probably do appreciate this version more because they like My Chem. and The Used better.

The first "Anonymous": You're just being an asshole. Calm yourself. I'm sure there are plenty of people in your neighborhood or school you can call out, so why bother over the internet?

And please, explain this to me, DylanDanzig, how is MCR hypocritical? I'm scanning my brain but I just can't seem to figure out your ridiculous train of thought. I hope you thought hard to come up with that comment, but it's obvious that you didn't. Maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to save your ass somehow by using some wild, possibly untrue or out-dated reasons for your thoughts, but I'm under the impression you lack that brain capacity. Don't call out bands that so many people look up to and expect no retaliation. Not all of MCR's fan following is "teen-girls", as you put it.

I didn't comment with the intention of calling people out, but the ridiculousness of some individuals is just too much to go without arguments. I had hoped I, along with most others, had matured past this, but apparently I haven't. I'm not ashamed of that, and I'm sure the three people that I commented on aren't either. The point is if you speak your honest thoughts, you've got to have something to back it up. Not just the fact that you don't like the way they dress, the way they look, someone you know who's into them, etc. You've got to base it on the music, and if you don't like that either, don't say anything about it. You don't have to listen to that kind of music, you don't have to talk to the people who listen to it, you don't have to talk badly about someone's hero behind their back. It's not how society should work. If you do have to say something, though, say it to the person's face, say it with respect, and control yourself. Nothing good ever came of over-reacting, so take a chill pill and deal with people's differences. It's *not* that hard.
