Type O Negative Lyrics

In the year 1991 A.D., Type O Negative arose from the
decaying remains of the neo-barbaric thermonuclear warriors
known as Carnivore. Together once again were
bassist/vocalist Peter Steele and keyboardist Josh Silver,
who had not stood on the same stage since the death of
Fallout. This time, they were joined by guitarist Kenny
Hickey and drummer Sal Abruscato. Their first release was
1991's Slow Deep & Hard, an angry cry from Peter Steele to
the cold world. I don't care what anyone says, I love this
album and it's quite possibly More...

Review about Type O Negative songs
Your lyrics are wrong in some spots | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Nettie performed by Type O Negative

I noticed two spots where your lyrics are wrong... In the dark bathed in Cathode ray tube... "Tube" should be "blue." The other I noticed is Thank you for saving me from my self
Your compassion became its own hell
Unequally beautiful inside and out
Without a doubt

"Unequally should be "unequivocally."

Don't mean to criticize, just sure ya probably want the lyrics correct.

Green man forever | Reviewer: Billdozer
------ About the song September Sun performed by Type O Negative

2 years since the Green Man is gone and I still can't believe it. Damn, it sucks we won't hear any new material, Type O is my alltime favorite band, will be forever. If anyone knows the translation of what Pete says in the middle I hope they will post. Also, at the end, it sounds like he says something backward and if you turn up the volume you can here some other lyrics, Pete say 'coming out of a building, or going up stairs me and you, instead I held hands, me and..(Teresa?) jumping.......wish you did exist or wish you woul've.....just give me a minute before a show that's all I ask for...no one' ? Something like that I can't here everything on it tho.

Too true, too damn true... | Reviewer: voraxith
------ About the song Anesthesia performed by Type O Negative

I love this song so damn much because every single word of it carries more weight to it than a hundred volumes of dry philosophy. I just listened to it again at full volume, drinking in the darkness, and I was overcone by uncontrollable tears. I wanted to shout the words at the top of my lungs. How many times do we have to be burned by the intoxicating flame of love and lust, only to turn around and feel the torment of betrayed emotion yet again? I wish I couldn't care anymore. I wish I didn't need love, and that was the whole point of this song. And then for Pete to die on us, I just want to give up! Thank you so much, Type O Negative, for your great great great music.

And for all the haters out there, you can fucking suck it!

Giving credit where credit is due... | Reviewer: Voraxith
------ About the song Black No. 1 performed by Type O Negative

First off, Type O Negative was the greatest effing band to ever walk the earth.

As for the guy (or girl, not sure which) who said this song insults the goth genre: childe, you have a LOT to learn about what is and isn't goth if you think Black No. 1 is insulting.

Now, on to my review. I've been a die-hard fan of the Drab Four since I was sixteen years old--that was 1997, for you youngsters--and ever since then, this song has always been a thorn in my side. It was radio Type O Negative, it was the song that EVERYONE knew. My favorite album, for various reasons, is October Rust, and this song, though pretty good, just never really spoke to me. But when Pete passed away, and I was decimated by the news, I realized that this song completely sums up everything that Type O Negative was about.

In brief, this is the greatest song by the greatest band of the greatest genre that the feeble race of man has ever produced. Listen to it. Love it. Worship it. There will never be anything better than this 11 minute and 15 second tribute to those beautiful snobby black-haired girls we all love so damn much. (And yes, the Best Of has the shortened radio edit.)

The world needs more goth girls, dammit!

Its insulting the genre | Reviewer: Longdon
------ About the song Black No. 1 performed by Type O Negative

Band is a perfect evolution from Sister Of Mercy ...I love the song, great power, great lyrics gets away with so much cheese WITHOUT turning into a novelty.

But really its making fun of Goth girls..and well really the goth scene. And its sort of ruines what could be an almost perfect anthem to a genre.
And goths are not know for a sense of humour so .... I don't get it ???

Red Water (Christmas Mourning) | Reviewer: Aaron
------ About the song Red Water (Christmas Mourning) performed by Type O Negative

This song has a very dark and tragic tone to it. I love it. The part where it goes silent except for the Christmas song being played on a piano(I think it's a piano anyway) with a girl crying always gets me. I picture a sad girl who has lost all joy on what used to be her favorite holiday, due to the death of close family members.

Peter suffered with depression and I believe it contributed alot to the melancholy you hear in many of their songs and what seperates TON from other gothic/doom bands.

Love this song to death... | Reviewer: April
------ About the song Love You to Death performed by Type O Negative

This song is so deep and beautiful. Its haunting, like something from the great Edgar Allen Poe, only, Peter has a better voice. ;) Its such a shame that he died, but his music lives on, and I am so greatful for TON'S legacy.

Not the best song... | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Life Is Killing Me performed by Type O Negative

This song reminds me of Jack Kevorkian the man who would help sickpeople "die with dignity". He neve called it suicide, but to society it certainly was. Lyrics-wise, this song is great, but I think Anesthesia was Type O Negative's best song.

true its so sad but true | Reviewer: Andrea

------ About the song September Sun performed by Type O Negative

I love this song. And I love Peter, he was an amazing man. I'm now six months pregnant and my son is named after him.

Abbott Steele (Abbott is Dimebag Darrell's lastname, another amazing man that passed away.)

Love and Light Peter, we miss you.
