Turn It Off Lyrics - Paramore

Review The Song (5)

I scraped my knees when I was praying
And found a demon in my safest haven, seems like
It's getting harder to believe in anything
And just to get lost in all my selfish thoughts

I wanna know what it'd be like
To find perfection in my pride
To see nothing in the light
I'll turn it off
In all my spite
In all my spite
I'll turn it off

(Chorus)
And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall I will realize
sponsored links
I'm better off when I hit the bottom

The tragedy, it seems unending
I'm watching everyone I looked up to break and bending
We're taking short cuts and false solutions
Just to come out the hero
Well I can see behind the curtain (I can see, yeah yeah)
The wheels are cranking, turning, it's all wrong the way we're working
Towards a goal, that's non-existent
It's not existent, but we just keep believing

(Chorus)
And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall I will realize
I'm better off when I hit the bottom

(bridge)
I wanna know what it'd be like
To find perfection in my pride
To see nothing in the light
I'll turn it off
In all my spite
In all my spite
I'll turn it off
Just turn it off

Again
Again

(Chorus)
And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall I will realize
I'm better off when I hit the bottom
And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall I will realize
I'm better off when I hit the bottom

Can't we all just get along? | Reviewer: I'll never let this go | 8/18/11

I LOVE this song sooooo and many other Paramore songs but why does everyone have to disagree on so many songs music should be bringing us together not breaking us apart! Why do we have wars over songs we like, if we all like the song that's all that matters (or should matter) I'm pretty sure we all relate to the song just in different ways... And that's totally fine! Why can't we all just get along? I think every one of these comments make sense so can we all just stop fighting please and thank you!

you all getting this song wrong, just like life | Reviewer: weirdo | 6/29/11

I'm pretty sure the song is exactly the opposite that these commenters think. It is all about losing hope, reaching a point where you no more see logic in such thing, figuring out how the world is fucked up, and how people blindly believe something better is coming, someone is watching over them, but it is all "false solutions", and it's better to put an end to all this shit
the song is not about holding grasp to your hopes and beliefs, like Makrina said, but about figuring out hope is pointless
I gotta admit, I didn't expect for Hayley's lyrics to be that deep, but yeah, that's a pretty good band and all

I love this song, but I HATE how everyone always find a way to make every song about your so called god. I love Paramore, but I just don't think it's alright to shove religion down our throats, I don't go around and tell you what I believe in or don't believe. I don't care about religions! Just cut it off!

this song helped sooo much | Reviewer: love is real | 4/10/11

I loooovvve this song so much,I really understood everything about it. my favorite line is "the tragedy it seems unending, i'm watching everyone I looked up to break and bending." At that time in my life I just felt like everyone I looked up to was falling down and doing bad things, and it hurt but this song helped me get through it. Now hayley is my new hero after hearing that song. THANK YOU PARAMORE for such an AMAZING SONG

I can relate to this song PERFECTLY. | Reviewer: Makrina | 4/23/10

I appreciate this song a lot because I know what it's like when things get personal and it's hard to even believe in anything good anymore. Of course I'll ALWAYS believe in God, so I understand exactly what Hayley is saying when she sings "... but we just keep believing," because if you love and believe in God that strongly then you'll never even dream of giving up all hope. But when you go from day to day fitting into the struggles that you have, that's what makes it hard to believe. Regardless, though, we'll always believe. That's why I adore this song:) God bless you Paramore.
