Trivium Lyrics

There's no such thing as a band born to greatness. To
succeed in the world of music there's a whole
energy-sapping storm of hard work to plough through.
Florida's Trivium has surely earned the major contender
status that has been afforded them by the international
media. After spending the last few years up to their necks
in blood, sweat and tears, the formidable foursome, whose
2005 sophomore release (and Roadrunner debut) Ascendancy
made them a hit with discerning music fans everywhere, have
paid their dues. Relentless touring More...

A bit of a stretch here... | Reviewer: Ben
------ About the song To The Rats performed by Trivium

Not sure exactly what this song is about but the use of the word "rat" definitely makes it sound like Matt is singing from the perspective of a crooked, violent organization like the mafia. Could it be the government? I only wonder that because the album The Crusade includes a lot of political themes. Also at the time it was written the Bush administration was basically on a warpath trying to silence and discredit all the people with inside knowledge of their corrupt dealings. It's a bit of a stretch. But I think everyone kind of has their own interpretation but that's what I think about when I hear this song, the government just using its power to crush the opposition like the mafia murders anyone who rats them out. Great song no matter what, one of my favorite Trivium tracks. Very thrash, it has the spirit of 1986 but still has a great modern metalcore feel with the melody in the chorus.

metal is great but dont be so close minded | Reviewer: Luke
------ About the song Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr performed by Trivium

Jesus christ you guys i love trivium and any other sub genre of metal but to say metal and rock are the only good genres of music and everything else is shit is just ignorant. just because you (and i for that matter) aren't interested in that music who are we to dictate weather it is good or not? Its shit like this that us humans are being held back by. until we learn to realize that we can learn from what others have to say rather that start a fight that we will really grow.

------ About the song Vengeance Falls performed by Trivium

This song reminds me of a tough time i had when i was in the KKK. i had problems lighting the crosses on fire and this song represents burning the pyres which i had to.

This song is awesome anyway and i'll have to tell the rest of the members about it. we been talking about playing music while we setup the crosses and this is a perfect fit.

------ About the song Shogun performed by Trivium

Just saw this Live last night, and holy hell was it amazing. Trivium has a way with music to make them sound so empowering yet their lyrics and overall tone is so dark and morbid. Shogun proves to the Metal community and even the world that Metal has not died, It is carried on through the immortal riffs of Trivium.

------ About the song Like Light To The Flies performed by Trivium

check out the Discipline and Punish by social philosophger Michel Foucault and you will find that these exact lyrics encapsulate the period of the 18th century where Judiciary tortured the accused to say the truth, where the accused often relied on lies to make the truth, thus either be let free or to prove that the justice was right; often infront of the public.

------ About the song Ember To Inferno performed by Trivium

I've been trying to learn this song's lyrics and I noticed one thing always threw me off. In the second verse it goes "in evolution's design it will burn up all obstacles" not "all THE obstacles"
it totally threw me off every time I tried to sing it from the sheet :) otherwise an awesome song and thanks for the effort.

------ About the song Shogun performed by Trivium

A couple of years ago I decided I needed to lose some weight!
This was already on my iPod along with a load of other albums but this was the one album I put on again and again to the point where no other album mattered!
In the end I was doing 2-3 hours on the treadmill with trivium there with me!
A year later 3 stones lighter........and here we are!
