Travis Tritt was born on February 9,1963 in Marietta,Georgia to James Tritt, a bus driver and former farmer, and Gwen Tritt, bookkeeper and homemaker. He fell in love with music as a child, teaching himself how to play guitar when he was eight and beginning to write songs when he was 14. Travis was determined to have a musical career, but his parents didn't encourage him to follow his instincts. His mother didn't mind that he wanted to perform, but she wanted him to sing gospel (his first musical performances were made in children's choir at First Assembly Church of God); his father was afraid there was no money in singing. When he was 18, he tried to settle down, work and have a family but he was unsuccessful -- he was married and divorced twice before he was 27 More... He was true to his word. I have been to concerts of all kinds all over the world and none were better than Travis Tritt and his great band. He was really putting out his full effort and I was amazed at his frequent eye contact with me and the whole auditorium. I loved the solo's best I must admit. I loved the songs because he sang them like we've known them although he's done them thousands of times, it was as if he was singing them anew just for us. He is fit and trim and so sexy I thought I was going to faint and he made sure to touch all of us that attempted to get close and personal. Just more than I had hoped for, alot more. Great job for Travis and all his band. I enjoyed the steel player steve the most, he was a great and versital musician. I will see the Trit concert as many times as I can. I highly recommend.!!! Pull up your lawn chair and have a ball. When I heard he was coming to Havelock Jamboree, I had to go. So we packed up our horse trailer and off we went. He didn't disapoint. We met a nice couple who when they found out how much I liked Travis Offered me his front row seat. So my husband sat with this nice man and I sat up front with his wife. I warned her I may not be able to contain myself. I was only told to sit down once. Travis had a bit of trouble with his ear piece but didn't miss a beat. He was great. August 25, 2007. I have loved Travis for years, and to find out he was coming practically to my neighborhood,,,I was thrilled! I looked forward to the concert for months! He showed up, on time,,,,,but drunk! I had seen him 3 times before in concert and he had always been awesome,,,,but not this time. His speech was slurred, his eyes were glassy & bloodshot. He screwed up the words to a couple of his songs, his vocals were greatly impaired,,,he could not mangage to sing his usual vocal range, and at least 3 times, his stage crew had to walk out and plug up his guitar in the middle of his songs, he was too sauced to notice. Even his band tossed embarrased looks at him and at each other. He was not falling down drunk, but enough to ruin the concert, unless of course you were watching it drunk yourself. Being mine and my husbands 18th wedding anniversay that day, we had made a poster with a request for an anniversary song, but he was too drunk to even read it. It was very dissapointing to see him this way. I know he used to behave that way in his younger days with Marty and all, but he is much older and I had assumned, wiser these days. Now that he is married with kids, he needs to care more about himself and the fans that love him, and lay aside the bottle and the bad-boy image. Roudy if fine, but drunk is downright unacceptable.
