Rock with Meaning | Reviewer: semkins | 1/16/2005

Far and few between are the albums which evoke much passion from me these days. Beethoven's Last Night is a welcome exception. A true rock opera. I believe this is what the great masters were thinking of, when many of these musical themes were originally written down. Beethoven and Mozart would be proud, I believe, to hear such a wonderful work born out of their originals. This album is art in the truest sense. The best music has always sent chills up and down my spine. This album has done this in almost every piece. The vocals are each true to character and make the story come alive (not to mention that they are technically outstanding as well). The blend of strings with 20th century instrumentation is phenomenal. Electronic amplification with masterful playing ability brilliantly enhances classics as well as new works. I've been playing this CD over and over for a week now, and I'm not near tiring of it yet. A true classic. Beethoven would be proud.
