------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

I read in an Pat Monahan interview once, that this song was from when he got breast implants. That's why his voice got girlier on the albums after. Play the record backwards... What do you hear? That's right.

------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

I love this song so much because it reminds me of my friend, Ray, who travels all over the world. He tells me what it's like to the see the Milky Way so clearly and what stars look like on the water. I miss him terribly when he's gone, but I love the cool stories when he comes home. It's a song about the best of friends and how to love a free spirit.

------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

the music and melody are enjoyable enough, but the lyrics-no matter what the inspiration -are twaddle.
it is musically and melodically moving and could have not sucked but instead the lyrics are prattle and for fucks sake watch the video-twee.

Meaning... | Reviewer: SR
------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

This is a very emotional song when you actually hear Pat Monahan explain the real meaning behind it. It was inspired by the death of his mother, who died from cancer. He got the idea from a dream he had. He was thinking after her death, that maybe there was an alterantive after-life in the galaxy, and he is explaining her possible voyage, what is on her mind, and if in fact, he does miss him while she is trying to figure this new life out there. It is amazing.

<3<3<3<3 AMAZING SONG, AMAZING MEANING! (to me...) | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

My best friend and I are obsessed with this song, and I do agree with what someone else wrote saying that it was the beauty, not the meaning that really matters. And this song does really mean a lot to me, but not in the way that you would think. One of my best friends ever asked me out near the end of the school year, and I had to say no and tell him that I was going to be moving to San Antonio. (This is a huge move, considering I lived previously in Ohio...) And when I came up to visit 9 months later, he still liked me and embraced the minute changes in my personality. (Which I thought was really sweet) Even if thats not what this song is supposed to mean, I don't really care, because this is what it means to me and I am entitled to my opinions.

I do love this song though-no matter what it may mean. :)

Lead singer Pat Monahan has stated that the song was inspired by the death of his mother, and that the opening lines came to him in a dream.[3] At a performance/open forum Q&A session for listeners of radio station KPRI in San Diego, CA, lead singer, Pat Monahan confirmed the inspiration during his conversation with the audience. The audio clip has since been broadcast by KPRI.[citation needed]

samara... the meaning of the song is what makes it... anyone can write something irrelevant to their life, the meaning behind this song is what makes me listen to it. it directly applies to my life. you fail samara

------ About the song Drops of Jupiter performed by Train

This song chokes me up. I'm from a tiny town, was married to an amazing guy, & thought there was more. After traveling all over, I'm now in NY. every time I hear it I think of how I felt & what I thought I was missing in life. Now, 10 years later I have reconnected with my ex, & have realized how silly I was.
