Byrd is the eldest child, and only son, of Jerry Lynn and
Brenda Vaughn Byrd. He and his sister Debra were raised in
Vidor, Texas and were students in the Vidor, Texas public
school system.
Byrd never intended becoming a singer. He began studying
business at Texas State University (then called Southwest
Texas State). One of his friends coaxed him into singing a
cover of Hank Williams Sr's "Your Cheating Heart" at a
local mall recording studio. The owner of the studio was so
impressed with his version that he entered Byrd into a
local talent contest. Byrd discovered on that stage that he
really liked the attention and applause that came with
performing.
Byrd began playing nightclubs in Southeast Texas, including
working with then-struggling artist Mark Chesnutt More...

------ About the song Wild Fire performed by Tracy Byrd
This song is so sad!!! But it is great. I dont think they do...but did they ever find wildfire??
If they didnt, that would have been a sweet ending!!! (much better than the current one)
Wildfire is not dead...I hope

------ About the song A Good Way to Get on My Bad Side performed by Tracy Byrd
Great (in my opinion) vocals, some humor, and some "right on!" moments.
This, and Garth's "Friends in Low Places" showing door could be a five-syllable word, and I was hooked on country music, from a die-hard Beatles fan.
The album this song appears on has several other excellent tracks.
