Tom's unique weighty voice is a baritone to tenor range. He
is a vocal powerhouse with the ability to give his audience
every ounce of his energy, enthusiasm and concentration. If
his delivery is vigorous, he invites his audience in with
the vulnerability of his emotional conviction. He is a
natural, a Welshman, a worker, an artist.
Tom has a fundamental interest in a wide range of musical
expression. He is first and foremost a rocker with a true
rhythm and blues soul. In his youth, he was a "Teddy-Boy",
a rebel, with not much on his mind but music and sex. His
young style and attitude was dominated by the birth of rock
'n' roll. But he had ears and a natural ability that could
appreciate and understand the quickly burgeoning styles of
popular music. As much tim More...

------ About artist/band Tom Jones
Goodness gracious! That man has still got it major time!! He looked and sounded as fabulous as he did from way back when. That was especially evidenced by the number of women's undergarments that were flung at him from the audience . .. wish I brought some of mine to join the pile! lol what I loved was his self deprecating sense of humor, and that he crosses generational boundaries. His audience was filled with people from all ages, and everyone had a great time. Even my husband who was lukewarm on seeing Tom Jones at best left as one of his devoted fans. yea, Tom!!!
p.s. I didn't see any lizard background singer who was vocally challenged. Everyone was most excellent!
I am trying to contact an old friend, Kay Savage.
We worked together in Tucson, Ariz. when she was working on the song,"walk through this world with me". If you know how I could get in touch
with Kay it would be deeply appreciated. Thanks
again, Carl Runk
Mexican Tom Jones? | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song A Minute Of Your Time performed by Tom Jones
There is this famous song, "El tiempo que te quede libre", by mexican composer José Ángel Espinosa, aka "Ferrusquilla", from the seventies. If you understand english and spanish, and therefore listen to both songs, the swindle becomes evident. Even the lyrics are very much alike ("I don't care if it lasts two minutes, even with only one I shall be happy", says the song in spanish). And if one tries to sing the mexican lyrics while Tom goes on with the chorus, it just fits exactly, 'cause it is the same thing! Please, if you speak any spanish, just try to sing along: "El tiempo que te quede libre, si te es posible, dedícalo a mí / No importa si son dos minutos o si es uno solo, yo seré feliz, con tal de que vivamos juntos lo mejor de todo dedicado a mí...". Of course, the original is from 1968, so it's not Ferrusquilla, it is Pancho Villa!

------ About artist/band Tom Jones
My Mother had been waitintg for years to see Tom Jones live...I finally relented, and was suprised at how actually vocally gifted he was...But the background singer not only looked like a lizard, but was off key the entire night. I can only assume that he surrounds himself with lesser singers, to bolster
himself???
My husband and I went to see Tom when we were in Las Vegas in Jan. 2009, we had seem him in San Diego a number of years ago and thought he was great then, we had a wonderful time and since we came home have been lisening to his greatest hits, he sounds just as good today as he did then.
Thanks for the memories Tom hope to see you again some day.

------ About the song The Anniversary Song performed by Tom Jones
In the original music from 1946 the last verse reads
" The night seemed to fade into blossoming dawn,
The sun shone anew but the dance lingered on.
Could we but re-live that sweet moment divine.
We'd find that our love is un-altered by time"
