Toe'n the Line Lyrics - Zakk Wylde

Review The Song (2)

Hey, hey, won't you get yourself out my way
Yeh, yeh, I'm living life like it's my last day
It's got me comin'
It's got me going
Which way I just don't know
Lord, oh Lord, I thank you and I love you so

It's my obsession
It's a truckload of aggression
Come lookin' for a friend
I ask a question
You start messin' around with my head once again

I'm just toe'n the line

Mama don't you worry none
We're just toe'n the line

Yeh, yeh, it's a rush running through my veins
Yeh, yeah I'm gonna drive the wife insane
It's got me comin'
It's got me going
Which way I just don't know
Lord, oh Lord, I love you and I thank you so

It's my obsession
It's a truckload of aggression
Come lookin' for a friend
I ask a question
You start messin' around with my head once again

I'm just toe'n the line

A fist for your head
A fist for my cure
I'm tired of feeling weak
I'm tired of feeling small
I't gonna feel like this anymore

I'm just toe'n the line

Afterthought

Got me a fistful of creation
Ain't nothin' Mama I can't do
Build me your walls I'm gonna break on through
Won't ya tell me, won't ya tell me
Who I am and who I can't be
Well the loser be you
Cus I know it ain't me

Zakk at his best. | Reviewer: Ben Bacon | 1/8/10

Totally agree that Zakk was at his best on that album and I think it is a cryin' shame that so few people outside of that genre even know that band ever existed; however, I totally disagree with you about Zakk not being interesting, anymore. Just listen to Concrete Jungle, Suicide Messiah, House of Doom or Fire It Up. ALL of these songs have killer riffs. House of Doom is just a kick-ass tune and Fire It Up damn-near gets me a speeding ticket every time I hear it, which is almost on a daily basis. His playing style and tone have changed over the years some but there's not one single professional musician that is the same at 40 as they were 18. I still love that guy and, again, I agree with you...he's definitely a hero!!! Good vibes to you, man and NEVER STOP PRACTICING!!!

Toe'n The Line... awesome! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/29/08

Zakk Wylde's best work is Pride & Glory. It's heavy, groovy... it's got blues and soul... the album was brilliant and the band even more. The record got great reviews worldwide. Toe'n The Line is my favorite. It shows us the most inspired and ambitious Zakk ever. Back then he was still motivated to make awesome music. Nobody gave a f**k about that southern vibe back in the nineties, but Zakk just did what he wanted. Nowadays, I think Zakk is no longer a believer. He is doing his thing for a living. Black Label Society is successful and so is Ozzy. But his riffs are not exciting anymore. And his singing is just terrible, I'm sorry to say. Zakk was a great singer on Pride & Glory, Book Of Shadows and Sonic Brew. Now he is just another dude playing heavy metal. His guitar sound did not improve either. It is less heavy than it was before. Anyway: he is still a hero, no doubt! I only have to listen to Toe'n The Line to know that he is.
