When his lyrics speak of "according to what you have done," I believe he is speaking along the lines of scripture (in the book of James in the Bible) where it says in James 2:17: "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead." I don't think anyone wants to have a dead faith! And part of being obedient to God requires us to obey his will for our lives and to do the things which God would have us to do...not just the things that we feel comfortable doing.
