just heard this song, and it almost brought tears to my eyes. It brings an insupportably painful feeling, as if it were unearthing the darkest parts of your soul, the saddest and most painful memories from many lives together. It creates a wonderfully dark atmosphere, and then, as "03 n a d" said, "you simply gaze at that darkness again, speechless, speechless"...

my grandmother just recently passed and ive listened to this close to atleast 20 times and i just sit in amazement of this song. Opeth is honestly one of my favorite bands and they can move you just through their music. They have touched my heart and feeling upon music emensely.

This song is one that I can always rely on. No matter the cause, the time of need, this song claims my inner self. I dont know how Opeth does it, but they've managed to fill a hole through a salvation of melodies and vocal harmony that makes my light in the long days. For the past 12 years I have always held a peice of Opeth closest to heart. To to my name will take it until my closure.

I think I must have listened to this song about 12 times a day for the last 6 months. Its hits very close to home for me and I am sure a lot of other people. It is touching, sad and right on point. The lyrics are beautiful and every time I hear this song I cry; i cry for the pain it brings out in myself and for how wonderful and truthful it actually is. It brings out this vulnerability in me that I usually hide. I used to go about my day lifeless and drained. I had been suffering for so long that I couldn't even smile let alone shed a tear. If it wasn't for this song, I would of never been able to face my pain in the right way. This song made me human again and enabled me to realize that I exist in this world. Its very theraputic.

that song is full of memories, sad ones, it was once dedicated to me, and i have to say that whenever i hear this song i imagine it raining and i see darkness, not that kind of darkness that makes you afraid but the one that make you gaze and go back to review some mistakes you've made as a movie infront of you inside that darkness you created, its the worst feelings that could come to a human being the ones described in this song, the worst and the most that could heart you inside,, how this would be if you knew and now are sure that you were the reason of those bitter feelings for that person! you simply gaze at that darkness again, speechless, speechless

This is one of the most beautiful songs I ever have, and ever will, hear. The guitar melodies and vocals are moving and sad, and everything flows perfectly together. Whenever this song comes on, I find I stop whatever I'm doing to look out the window and listen to it. It makes me feel thoughtful and calm. Love you, Opeth!
