Through The Iris Lyrics - 10 Years

Review The Song (2)

Cherish
Two circular hues of blue with a gray shade
So captivating
More than you know

False perceptions
That brought forth these questions of
Truth, love and hope
Now that you're injuring
I'll carry you with me just
Please hold on

Disappear and dissolve
A weakening wall
Will one day fall
It's wise to sever our loss
I redefine pulse
Through your iris

Love's not all lost
But it's nailed to my cross
And crucified all that I've held on
To be awaiting
Anticipating a touch such as yours

False affection
A spawn of neglection
Of love, lust, hoax
Please understand me
That now where you're standing
Is closer then I'd hoped

Disappear and dissolve
A weakening wall
Will one day fall
It's wise to sever our loss
I redefine pulse
Through your iris

Disappear and dissolve
A weakening wall
Will one day fall
It's wise to sever our loss
I redefine pulse
Through your iris

Disappear and dissolve
A weakening wall
Will one day fall
It's wise to sever our loss
I redefine pulse
Through your iris

I agree with your interpretation of this song. Atleast that's how it speaks to me. I was in a simular situation with a girl who used to be my best friend. We were very close and were very supportive forces in each others lifes. The main thing holding us apart was she too was an addict. Eventually she dicided to quit and I helped her get better and eventually after time passed of her being sober we allowed an intimate relationship to develop between us. All was good even with a few relapses until she totally gave in to going back to that lifestyle. It didnt take long for our foundations to break apart and abuse, though not physical, to begin. Eventually I started to feel like the story this song tells, where I was regretting letting her in so far but I couldn't just stop loving her. So I left her. It had devestating effects on both of our lives. But she chose her path, and now regrets it. I chose mine, and found someone else who is good to me and loves me for who I am. Ms Suicide, hold out for your love too.

Well... | Reviewer: Ms. Anonymous Suicidal | 5/28/10

First of all, this song is AMAZING.
I think this is about a person who loves the girl/guy even though knowing that he/she doesn't love the person back and is only using him ("That brought forth these questions of truth, love and hope." and the words "False affection, A spawn of neglection. A love, lust, hoax" shows what I've mentioned above)
The person didn't mean to let him/her in but they ended up falling in love with him/her. ("Please understand me that now where you're standing is closer then I'd hoped")
The person knows that the relationship will not last (by the words "A weakening wall will one day fall") But it's not like he has a choice to stop loving him/her.
Well that's what happened to me really... I fell in love with my best friend, he physically abused me and I let him because he was an addict and he said it would "get his mind off drugs and all". And now that he's lost his interest in me, he won't even talk to me anymore. Wow, life's hard on you sometimes but people just hold on and it'll pay off in the end because I know someday I'll find someone who will love me for who I am. :)
