Black Rose- a near classic. | Reviewer: dermo
------ About the album Black Rose performed by Thin Lizzy

Most people regard Black Rose as Lizzy's last great studio album and in this they are surely correct. For me though it's not perfect with " Toughest street..." and " Get out of here" especially being slight filler. And apart from the solo from Gary Moore " S&M" isn't great either. The rest though is sheer brilliance from Phil and the boys. The three singels are classics, the prophetic "Got to give it up" is brilliant Lynott in confessional mode and "With love" is classic heavy rock balladeering with a great lyric. Topping it all off is the superb title track, still epic sounding today and a guitar players dream. Being Irish myself and a lover of the Pogues, Big Country and all this celtic this song and a glass of the hard stuff is Thin Lizzy at their brilliant best.
