The thin ice Lyrics - Pink Floyd
Review The Song (2)
Momma loves her baby
And daddy loves you too.
And the sea may look warm to you babe
And the sky may look blue
But ooooh Baby
Ooooh baby blue
If you should go skating
On the thin ice of modern life
Dragging behind you the silent reproach
Of a million tear-stained eyes
Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice
Appears under your feet.
You slip out of your depth and out of your mind
With your fear flowing out behind you
As you claw the thin ice.

The Wall Plotline - The Thin Ice | Reviewer: Mike | 7/20/09
This song narrates the first couple of years of Pink's life, before he is old enough to realize what has happened to his father. The "Thin Ice" represents the fragile period of innocence in people's lives before they can really understand the world around them.
Furthermore, the third and fourth lines from the third verse:

A good song, and I find that although it is not a pivital number in the Wall setlist, it does provide a good warning of the kind of mind ou are about to get a glimpse into. The part about "draggng behind you the silent reproach of a million tearstained eyes" is pause for thought. That comment's context seems to be particularly elusive, seeing as he could mean that everyone in society seems to have broken countless lover's hearts, or it could be a critique of how governments semed bent on causing suffering for people. On the other hand, it could say that you can't shake the misery that has befallen society. I can't be sure of what is the appropriate setting for that line, but I believe it is the second on my list. my reasoning stems from Roger Waters' decision to base the whole album on his father's death. Overall, "the thin ice" is a chilling soundbyte, whose length belies its power. One of my favorite songs on the disk.
