Time is becoming
more precious than gold.
All those times wasted alone.
Starving children,
The poisoned water,
And the suffocating skies.
We won't get another chance this time.
We won't get a second chance this time.
You'll be lucky if you make it out alive.
Haven't we lost our minds?
What the hell were we all thinking?
Now they're choosing sides.
This is the world.
This is the world.
A virus known as rage
is brutally destroying
and spreading all over the place.
A bleeding culture.
A dying nation.
When the money controls the tide.
We won't get another chance this time.
We won't get a second chance this time.
You'll be lucky if you make it out alive.
haven't we lost our minds?
What the hell were we all thinking?
Now they're choosing sides.
This is the world as we know it.
Have we lost our minds?
The tension is rising and rising,
and the world is at stake.
Take back what belongs to you, my God,
before it's too late.
Take it baaack.
Take it baaack.
Take it baaack.
So close your eyes
and paint the picture.
The sunset staring back
won't last forever, forever.
Just close your eyes
and paint the picture,
cause the world we could have had
would have been better,
much better.
Just close your eyes
and paint the picture,
cause the sunset staring back
won't last forever, forever.

Review about The World As We Know It Has a good meaning. | Reviewer: Saphieten | 7/14/09
I'm not too fond of the song genre, but I really think it has a good meaning. Its kind of a wake up call to those who are ignorant to the world. There is a lot of violence, disease, poverty and pointless wars. If man kind were more compassionate then half the bad things in the world would fade.
Look at the movie stars, who spent a million dollars on one outfit for the red carpet, when they could have spent that money and cured poverty in an area. If everyone wasnt so greedy and self centred then I would actually be proud to be apart of the human race.
That isnt to say there are no kind, admirable people out there. But as generations pass those good people are fewer and far between. The world is falling to peices, and nobody cares enough to try and save it.
When I graduate from high school, I plan to spend a few months, or more, in a third world country. Its sad when I, a 14 year old, have more compassion and selflessness than the average adult.
you know corruption and greed???? | Reviewer: logan | 7/5/09
FUCK ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY KNOW THE WORLD come to Iraq or Afghanistan you'll see greed insanity complete and utter chaos people fighting and they have no clue why or what for and you think you have the rights to say anything about america or bush or our government how about looking outside of your shells of ignorance and see what is outside our country FROM AN AMERICAN SOLDIER
The World | Reviewer: Smithhh | 5/22/08
The world really is only a greedy place these days. There's so many fights and so much pollution it's insane. I really wish I could do something about it, but we can't reverse what we've already done. I think we're one of the world generations so far-period.
