The Wonderful Cross (With Matt Redman) Lyrics - Chris Tomlin

Review The Song (9)

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless
Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

Touching | Reviewer: Joice | 4/23/11

i think this song is truly touching
when you think about what Jesus actually went through to save us ..
it changes you
and what he experienced is truly what a great God would do for us.
^^ i love this song

Wonder&Awe | Reviewer: Leah Gene | 4/2/10

I am Catholic, and today we celebrate Good Friday. In about a half an hour I will partake in this celebration. This song just sends chills down my spin, and tears to my eyes. It's sad to think we are the crowd, who condemd, scourged, and crucifed Jesus Christ. It makes me feel guilty. But I know I have forgivness from the One who died for me. "He is the only one who saved the world, with both hands tied behind His back!"

*A great reminder* | Reviewer: Kristi | 9/17/08

My favorite line in the song is "Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live." It's a great reminder for me of what my response should be. If I think the cross is so wonderful (which I do), I have to take up my cross daily and die to myself to be raised to *true* life.

wonderful indeed | Reviewer: sandra fernandes | 6/21/07

u can actually imagine the cross of christ and you standing in front of it ... weeeping n hugging the CROSS

An Easter Pleaser | Reviewer: Carmen | 4/8/07

Today my church sang this song in honor of Easter and my mom cried while I was fighting back tears. I always know that my savior will be with me in all that I do. He truly did die on the cross so we could live without fear.

inspiring | Reviewer: Larry | 3/4/07

this song is such a wonderful song. it inspired me to think about the roots of my beliefs. the son of God came to die in the most embarrassing way possible of the time... just for us sinners. praise God for blessing Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman and their ability to reach people through their music

Truly Amazing! | Reviewer: Hannah | 2/7/07

This song has always been one of my favorites...as the lyrics touch me in so many ways. The cross is truly wonderful...and to think that the Lord of all the heaven and the earth died on it for each and everyone of us. A powerful symbol that represents Jesus shedding his own blood for the sake of our sins.
Now that is truly amazing. Something we should all think about!!

Awesome | Reviewer: Chris | 9/10/06
