The Weapon They Fear Lyrics - Heaven Shall Burn

Review The Song (8)

Words, these words of freedom;
A bequest, never to be silenced.
A bequest, never to be silenced... silenced...

In this world of lies, the truth - it means resistance;
To make the masses see and sense their needs.

He healed so many aching hearts, and wounds.
And threw back the baseness - back to where it came from.

Aspired from the middle, of his brothers;
Charged this suffering and oppression.
One single voice became a storm.
His words and melodies - the weapon they fear, the weapon they fear...

Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came... from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.

A bequest, never to be silenced...

Nobody's chosen to suffer.
Nobody's destined to rule.
Gagged his mouth but not his songs, the songs we sing.
Fettered his hands,
But not, not these words he wrote:
These songs we'll sing!
These songs we'll sing!
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came.
Threw back the baseness - back from where it came...

["Silence and screams are the end of my song." - Victor Jara.]

Victor Jara | Reviewer: nachacyanide | 11/6/09

Im chilean, as Victor Jara, he was singer-songwriter, political activist and member of the Communist Party of Chile.
in September 11, 1973 Chilean coup he was arrested, tortured and ultimately shot to death by machine gun fire—his body was later thrown out into the street of a shanty town in Santiago, and yes, pinochet ordered to kill him.

When i first came across this band i didnt know what to expect.
I heard a song on MTVs headbangers ball and fel in love.
It just so happens that there lyrics is amazing to. I speak from expearience because im a poet and they are realy an insperation. They have lyrics that is alot better than this one but not alot that carry a message as strong as this one. \m/

Meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/19/08

This song is about Victor Jara and what he's done. Just watch Wikipedia or sth. to look up Victor Jara (if you don't know him).

I don't know why they are dedicating a song to him, but maybe no one knows ;)

Simply astonishing | Reviewer: Alex | 8/4/08

Heaven Shall Burn came into my world of music in 2005 and since then, I Hold a firm undying respect for the band. The song "The weapon they fear" was of particular interest. The lyrics contained herein are that of meaning and expression that I personally haven't seen in a band in a few years. I have always liked metal music of all breeds but, in the personal opinion, This band created their own seperate genre. They have a unique style to the likes of which can't be duplicated and should not be discounted. Music is expression, and Heaven Shall Burn will Definitely leave their mark. I look very much foward to hearing more from the band.

Many people think of HSB as a demonic or satanist religious band but they are simple amazing with there talent. i have never heard a better band and never will. the drum is astonishing and the lyrics have meaning. Well Done HSB! you rule!!!

Stunning! | Reviewer: Lou | 4/12/07

While this Genre really is nothing new and odne quite often you need to pick out the greatest bands and the greatest songs. If HSB is one of the greatest bands in that genre? Could be, but this definitely is one of the best songs of this genre. It's so straigt forward and brutal it's awesome! But still it has great riffing and drumming in it. The vocals are great. But the best is probably the lyrics. Where other Metalbands sing about devil and shit like that HSB has this masterpiece of a text for a osng. Just awesome. What it stands for is easy to see, yet stunningly written. Who Victor Jara is you should find out yourself.

The weapon the fear- Review | Reviewer: lachlan | 8/17/05

While this song is not a flagship for originality in what is one of the most overcrowded and overdone genres in metal, it is still a very worthy peice of music. Great aggressive vocals, with some clean vocals in there (if you listen closely) and packed full of awesome riffing and killer double kick drumming. The lyrics to this song are themed similarly to most HSB songs and are quite fitting. Overall great song, though the only critisism I could give it is it goes for to long, the last mintue of this song doesnt really introduce any new elements and seems like a waste of time to me. 9.5/10
